JerryRigEverything just release his hands-on test of the new iPhone Air and just like with any of his gadget video, it is not for the faint of heart, especially if you’re the type of person who’s meticulous or protective of their devices, particularly Apple Devices.
Spoiler alert – the iPhone Air is “structurally indestructible” as it was able to withstand 216lbs (or 98 kg) of pressure before it bend the new iPhone Air.
Together with the iOS 26, Apple also release the latest version of their software platforms namely the iPadOS 26, macOS Tahoe 26, watchOS 26, tvOS 26, and visionOS 26.
Apple today released exciting new features and capabilities across each of its software platforms — iOS, iPadOS, macOS, watchOS, tvOS, and visionOS — and introduced a beautiful new design with Liquid Glass that brings even greater consistency across the Apple ecosystem. New Apple Intelligence features help break down language barriers with Live Translation, extend the capabilities of visual intelligence, and bring personalized, motivational audio insights with Workout Buddy on Apple Watch. Users will also find a range of updates across apps and experiences they use every day, including helpful ways to screen phone calls, customize messages on iPhone, and create delightful spatial scenes that bring photos to life. iPad users will experience an entirely new powerful and intuitive windowing system, and Mac gets the biggest update ever to Spotlight. Apple Watch introduces sleep score to give users a better understanding of sleep quality, plus Apple Vision Pro now features widgets and all-new Personas that are more natural and familiar.
Here’s a short video about Apple Intelligence;
And Liquid Glass;
The upgrade focuses mainly on the new Liquid Glass and Apple Intelligence, which will be integrated across all Apple devices. To upgrade to the latest iPadOS, you can go to your iPad’s SETTINGS > GENERAL > SOFTWARE UPDATE.
For Macs, here’s how you can update to macOS Tahoe 26;
Use Spotlight in the menu bar to search for “Software Update,” then open it from the search results.
Or open Software Update from settings: From the Apple menu in the corner of your screen, choose System Settings. In the window that opens, click General in the sidebar, then click Software Update on the right. (In earlier versions of macOS, choose Apple menu > System Preferences instead, then click Software Update.)
Keep in mind that the new macOS Tahoe 26 will show if you are using a compatible Mac.
If you want to upgrade your watchOS to watchOS 26, here are things that you can do;
You can wait until Apple Watch notifies you when a new update is available. Tap Update Tonight in the notification, then go to your iPhone to confirm that you want to update overnight. At the end of the day, leave your Apple Watch and iPhone charging overnight so the update can complete.
Or you can update your Apple Watch with your iPhone manually:
On your iPhone, open the Apple Watch app, then tap the My Watch tab.
Tap General > Software Update.
Download the update. If asked for your iPhone passcode or Apple Watch passcode, enter it.
Wait for the progress wheel to appear on your Apple Watch. It could take from several minutes to an hour for the update to complete.
Leave your Apple Watch on its charger while the update completes. Don’t restart your iPhone or Apple Watch, and don’t quit the Apple Watch app. When the update completes, your Apple Watch restarts on its own.
Update directly on your Apple Watch
If your Apple Watch has watchOS 6 or later, you can install updates without your iPhone:
Make sure that your watch is connected to Wi-Fi.
On your watch, open the Settings app.
Tap General > Software Update.
Tap Install if a software update is available, then follow the onscreen instructions.
Keep in mind that watchOS 26 is compatible with these Apple Watch models:
Apple Watch SE 2 and later
Apple Watch Series 6 and later
Apple Watch Ultra and later
To update your Apple TV, you can do it automatically or manually;
Update your Apple TV automatically
You can set your Apple TV to automatically install new updates when they’re available. Go to Settings > System > Software Updates and turn on Automatically Update.
Update your Apple TV manually
Go to Settings > System > Software Updates and select Update Software.
If there’s an update, select Download and Install.
Wait for your Apple TV to download the update. Keep your Apple TV connected and plugged in to power until the update is complete.
After the update downloads, your Apple TV will restart, prepare the update, then install it. When the update is complete, your Apple TV will automatically restart again.
And last but not the least, this is how you can update your visionOS to visionOS 26.
How to update visionOS automatically
Go to Settings > General > Software Update > Automatic Updates.
Turn on visionOS Updates.
Turn on Security Responses & System Files to automatically install security updates that might be available between complete visionOS updates. You can turn this option on in addition to visionOS Updates, or turn it on by itself.
If you’d like for visionOS updates to download automatically but install only when you choose, turn on visionOS Updates under Automatically Download. Then turn off visionOS Updates under Automatically Install.
Automatic visionOS software updates are downloaded and installed when your Apple Vision Pro is connected to Wi-Fi, charging, and locked.
How to check for visionOS updates manually
Back up your Apple Vision Pro.
Go to Settings > General > Software Update. The screen shows the currently installed version of visionOS and whether an update is available.
If an update is available, tap Download and Install or Install Now. You might need to enter your Apple Vision Pro passcode.
When the update is ready to install, an alert asks you to take off your Apple Vision Pro. You can see the progress of the update on the front of your device with EyeSight.
Your Apple Vision Pro battery needs to have sufficient charge, or be connected to power, before your device can update. An alert will let you know if you need to charge your battery first.

Last week, Apple officially announced the highly anticipated iPhone 17 series, consisting of the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max. While the entire lineup shares a number of key features, the Pro models stand out with significant upgrades. The iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max are essentially the same device, with the primary difference being their respective screen sizes.
Under the hood, the iPhone 17 is powered by the new A19 chip, which delivers robust performance for everyday tasks. However, the true powerhouse of the lineup is the A19 Pro chip, exclusive to the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max models. Apple emphasized that both chips have been engineered for faster performance and improved efficiency, with a particular emphasis on handling demanding on-device generative AI tasks. This marks a new era for iPhone, where complex AI computations are processed locally on the device, offering greater speed and privacy.

To create a safer online environment for Filipinos, the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) and the Cybercrime Investigation and Coordinating Center (CICC) are intensifying their campaign against the sale of illegal products on online platforms and social media.
This initiative, led by President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s directive to ensure cyberspace safety, is a top priority for the DICT. According to DICT Secretary Henry Aguda, this effort requires a “digital bayanihan” or community cooperation. The DICT has been in contact with social media platforms and other government agencies to address the circulation of harmful content online.
CICC Acting Executive Director Atty. Renato Paraiso stated that the CICC enforces a zero-tolerance policy against online harm. He mentioned that social media and online selling platforms have agreed to comply with this directive and have their own mechanisms to sweep for and remove harmful content, including child pornography and deep fakes.
In addition to government action, the public is encouraged to be vigilant and report suspicious online activities and illegal product sales to the hotline 1326.
The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) also plays a role in this effort. DTI Assistant Secretary Valdez III highlighted the launch of the eCommerce Philippine Trustmark, which acts as a regulatory authority to ensure safety, prevent the sale of substandard products, and mitigate online fraud and scams.
Representatives from Shopee PH, TikTok PH, and Google Philippines attended the press conference, expressing their support for the government’s initiatives. The collaboration between the public and private sectors is seen as key to creating a secure digital environment for all Filipinos.

Spotify is introducing Messages, a new in-app feature that allows users to share and discuss music, podcasts, and audiobooks with friends and family. The feature is rolling out to users 16 and older in select markets.
Messages provides a dedicated space within the Spotify app for the word-of-mouth recommendations that are already a key part of the platform’s experience. It allows for one-on-one chats where users can send content, react with emojis, and text back and forth. You can easily start a conversation from the “Now Playing” screen by tapping the share icon and selecting a friend. The feature also suggests people to message based on your past interactions, like sharing content or being in a Blend or collaborative playlist.
From Spotify;
Here’s how Messages work
Messages are one-on-one conversations where you can share Spotify content and react with text and emojis.
Share Spotify content and start a message in-app with people you’ve interacted with before through Spotify.
When listening to a song, podcast, or audiobook in the Now Playing View, tap the share icon, select a friend, and hit send.
Once you accept a message request, you’ll be able to react with emojis, send texts, and seamlessly share Spotify content back and forth. Access Messages by going to your profile photo in the top left corner.
Spotify states that Messages is designed to complement existing sharing options, not replace them, and will help artists and creators gain new fans through increased word-of-mouth recommendations. Users have full control, with options to accept or reject message requests, block users, and report content. Conversations are protected with industry-standard encryption, and Spotify will use proactive detection and moderation to ensure a safe environment for all users.

According to a report by Associated Press, the measure was implemented because these platforms are being “used to deceive and extort money, and to involve Russian citizens in sabotage and terrorist activities.” The statement did not specify which calling features were affected, but reports from Russian users indicate that both voice and video calls may be impacted.
This is the statement from WhatsApp related to the Russian government’s attempt to block the service.
Our statement on the news about the Russian government's attempt to block WhatsApp:
WhatsApp is private, end-to-end encrypted, and defies government attempts to violate people’s right to secure communication, which is why Russia is trying to block it from over 100 million…
Threads, Meta’s Twitter/X clone, was able to achieve this in less than 3 years, which is impressive considering that it took Twitter, now X, 16 years to reach the 400 million monthly active user milestone.

Google Maps has updated its maps to make the label “West Philippine Sea” (WPS) more visible for the waters west of the Philippines. This has been praised in the Philippines as it reinforces their claim over this part of the South China Sea.
Before, the WPS label might have been harder to see. Now, it’s clearer even when zoomed out. Filipino leaders and the military see this as important recognition of their rights, especially after the 2016 international court ruling that favored the Philippines over China’s broader claims in the area.
Under Administrative Order No. 29, the Philippines officially named this area the West Philippine Sea in 2012, covering 200 miles Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) in the West Philippine Sea. While China still calls it the South China Sea and disagrees with the international court’s decision, many Filipinos view Google’s update as a positive step in raising global awareness and acknowledging their sovereignty.
In a press release by the Philippines Government, Senate Majority Leader Francis ‘TOL’ Tolentino said “Growing global recognition for WPS represents a victory for all Filipinos. It is also an affirmation of the correctness of the Philippines’ current policy to assert its sovereign rights in line with international law and multilateralism.” Tolentino is the principal author of the landmark Philippine Maritime Zones Law (Republic Act 12064).
