Microsoft has officially announce its flagship high-performance machine: the Surface Laptop Ultra. Designed specifically for developers, creators, and AI professionals, the 15-inch laptop is engineered to run massive large language models (LLMs) locally—without relying on cloud compute.
The Surface Laptop Ultra runs on NVIDIA’s RTX Spark platform. It pairs a Blackwell RTX GPU with up to 6,144 cores and a Grace CPU with up to 20 cores, backed by up to 128GB of unified memory. Microsoft says the chip delivers up to one petaflop of AI performance, enough to run 120-billion-parameter AI models locally without relying on cloud servers. Because the chip is Arm-based, the laptop runs Windows on Arm, so app compatibility will be a key question for buyers.
