ICYMI: Iphone Air announced

Announced alongside the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max, Apple also announced the Iphone Air, according to the company the iPhone Air is “the thinnest iPhone ever made.” The iPhone Air shares a number of key specifications with the iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Pro, a shift towards a more unified set of core technologies across Apple’s latest generation of devices.

Here’s a breakdown of the notable specs the iPhone Air shares with the iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Pro:

Display
All three models—the iPhone Air, iPhone 17, and iPhone 17 Pro—feature a stunning Super Retina XDR display with a 120Hz ProMotion (refresh rate), a feature previously exclusive to the Pro models. This is a significant upgrade for the standard iPhone 17 and a welcome addition to the iPhone Air, ensuring incredibly smooth scrolling, fluid animations, and a more responsive user experience for all. The displays also share other key characteristics, including Always-On functionality, a peak brightness of 3000 nits for excellent outdoor visibility, and a new Ceramic Shield 2 on the front for enhanced durability and scratch resistance.

A19 Chip
Just like the iPhone 17 Pro, the iPhone Air is powered by the high-performance A19 Pro chip. This chipset is a leap forward for all models, with a 16-core Neural Engine designed for advanced on-device AI features. The IPhone Air will also have the same storage configuration of 256 GB, 512 GB and 1TB.

48MP Fusion Camera System and 18MP Center Stage Camera
A major upgrade across the entire iPhone 17 lineup is the new 48MP Fusion camera system. The iPhone Air and iPhone 17 Pro both features the new 48MP Fusion camera system, this allows for capturing super-high-resolution photos in both 24MP and 48MP formats. It gives users with greater detail and flexibility for editing. All new iPhone models also include 18MP Center Stage front camera. This new camera design includes a square sensor that enables the phone to automatically expand the field of view for group selfies and adjust the frame to keep you centered during video calls, regardless of your orientation.

Compare to the iPhone 17 series, the iPhone Air is an eSIM-only device globally. Apple explained that “eSIM offers greater flexibility, better security, and seamless connectivity compared to traditional physical SIM cards.” The iPhone 17 series offers both the physical Sim card tray and support for eSIM.

The price for the iPhone Air will start at $999.00. It’s available in four colors: space black, cloud white, light gold, and sky blue. You can now pre-order the iPhone Air, and it will be available Friday, September 19th.

Last week, Apple officially announced the highly anticipated iPhone 17 series, consisting of the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max. While the entire lineup shares a number of key features, the Pro models stand out with significant upgrades. The iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max are essentially the same device, with the primary difference being their respective screen sizes.

Under the hood, the iPhone 17 is powered by the new A19 chip, which delivers robust performance for everyday tasks. However, the true powerhouse of the lineup is the A19 Pro chip, exclusive to the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max models. Apple emphasized that both chips have been engineered for faster performance and improved efficiency, with a particular emphasis on handling demanding on-device generative AI tasks. Nissan Bids Farewell to the R35 GT-R as the final vehicle rolls off the line

After 18 years, Japan-based Nissan announced that the final Nissan R35 GT-R has rolled off the assembly line at the Tochigi, Japan plant, marking the end of its production. The last unit, a Premium Edition T-Spec in Midnight Purple, is headed to a customer in Japan. Since its 2007 debut, approximately 48,000 units of the R35 GT-R have been produced.

Nissan R35 GT-R is known for its continuous evolution, the car was powered by a VR38DETT twin-turbo V6 engine, with a core team of nine master craftsmen, known as Takumi, hand-assembling each engine. Over its lifetime, the engine’s maximum power output increased from 480 horsepower to 570 horsepower, with NISMO models reaching 600 horsepower.

The R35 GT-R has a storied racing history, including multiple wins in the SUPER GT Championship and Super Taikyu series. It also set several records at the Nürburgring Nordschleife circuit, with its best time being 7 minutes and 8.679 seconds. Nothing has official announced their Phone (3), the company is keeping their signature transparent design with the revamped “Glyph Matrix” instead of the traditional Glyph Interface. The Glyph Matrix is a small micro-LED screen in the top right corner of the phone, designed to show app alerts, notifications, and real-time progress indicators without waking the main display. It also supports “Glyph Toys” and will have a public SDK for custom widgets and games. The camera module also features a unique, asynchronous lens placement.

The Phone (3) will feature a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with a 1.5K resolution (1260 x 2800 pixels) and a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate. It boasts a peak brightness of 4500 nits and typical outdoor brightness of 1600 nits. Protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 7i on the front and Gorilla Glass Victus on the back.

It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8S Gen 4 SoC, a significant upgrade that offers improved CPU and GPU performance compared to its predecessor. The Phone (3) will be available in two configurations; 12GB RAM with 256GB storage and 16GB RAM with 512GB storage, both the RAM and storage utilizes LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 storage technology.

As for the cameras, it will use a a triple 50MP camera setup at the back; the main shooter will be a 50MP sensor (1/1.3″ OV50H) with f/1.68 aperture and Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), then an ultrawide 50MP sensor (1/2.76″ JN1) with f/2.2 aperture and 114° field of view and the 3rd camera is a periscope telephoto with 50MP sensor (1/2.75″ JN5) with f/2.68 aperture, OIS, 3x optical zoom, and up to 60x digital zoom. It also functions as a macro camera.

For the front camera, it will be using a 50MP selfie camera with f/2.2 aperture.

The Nothing Phone (3) will have 5,500mAh silicon-carbon battery that supports 65W fast wired charging (charges to full in under an hour) and 15W wireless charging and 5W reverse wireless charging.

On the software side, the Phone (3) will be running the company’s very own Nothing OS 3.5 based on Android 15. The company promises 5 years of Android OS updates and 7 years of security patches. It will also includes new AI-powered features like “Essential Space” for organization and “Essential Search” for universal phone-wide searching. A “Flip to Record” shortcut allows for quick transcription and summarization of conversations.

Microsoft and Asus recently unveiled the new ROG Xbox Ally series: ROG Xbox Ally and ROG Xbox Ally X. Design-wise, both handhelds will look identical; the difference between the two will be what’s “under the hood.”

Let’s first talk about the specs that both the ROG Xbox Ally and ROG Xbox Ally X share. Both will be running a custom version of Windows 11, which Microsoft said “has been optimized for the ROG Xbox Ally.” Both will have a 7” FHD display with 1080p resolution, 500 nits, a 16:9 aspect ratio, and a 120Hz refresh rate. The display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus with DXC Anti-Reflection. Both will also have similar I/O Ports, Network and Communication, and dimensions. As for the specs that separate the two, first we have the processor. On the Ally, it will be using the AMD Ryzen™ Z2 A Processor, while on the Ally X, it will be using the new AMD Ryzen™ AI Z2 Extreme Processor. The RAM and Storage will also be different: the Ally will have 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB for storage, while the Ally X will have 24 GB for RAM and 1TB for storage. The ProPILOT features Nissan Ground Truth Perception technology with next-generation Lidar and Wayve AI Driver software, “will set a new standard for autonomous driving with advanced collision avoidance capability.”

From Nissan’s official statement, “Wayve AI Driver software, built on Wayve’s embodied AI foundation model, is designed to handle highly complex real-world driving conditions in a human-like manner. The technology’s ability to efficiently and rapidly learn from vast amounts of data ensures continuous advantage to Nissan vehicles for the future.”

Nintendo has officially launch the new Switch 2, the company also provided more information about their new handheld gaming system. In a 1-hour presentation, Nintendo provided the specs, availability and price of the new Nintendo Switch 2.

The new Switch 2 will now have 256 GB of storage compare to the 32 GB of the original Switch, its processor will be a custom processor made by NVIDIA. The display will be larger than the original Switch at 7.9-inch Capacitive LCD touch screen with double the resolution at 1920×1080 pixels. It will also have a larger 5220mAh lithium-ion battery

Nintendo also made significant upgrade to the Joy-Con™ 2 Controllers now has a built-in microphone that allows gamer to chat with friends like in Discord and it will connect magnetically instead of sliding-on and can be use as a mouse.

After photos of their latest EV leaked, Volvo has officially announce their new fully electric sedan Volvo ES90.

The new Volvo ES90 is will be available in 3 powertrain variants; Single Motor Extended Range, Twin Motor and Twin Motor Performance.

The Twin Motor Performance variant of the new Volvo ES90 has a combined range of up to 700km , and up to 910km if it is just for city driving. It offers 500kW/680 hp and 870Nm of torque. It has a top speed of 180km/h with an acceleration rate of “0 to 100km/h” in just 4.0 secs.

It has a battery capacity of 106kWh and with its battery pre-conditioning to optimize charging, it can charge from 10% to 80% in just 20 minutes, and can add 300km range in 10 minutes of charging.

Officially announced last Feb 19th, the iPhone 16e features a 6.1-inches Super Retina XDR OLED display, similar to the iPhone 14, the A18 chip that use the iPhone 16 with support for Apple Intelligence, no Touch ID, one 48 MP rear camera and a 12MP front facing camera. It will also have the Action button and the new Apple C1, the first cellular modem designed by Apple. The iPhone 16e will also be using a USB-C port for data and charging.

Apple did not specifically mentioned the capacity but instead said that it will have Up to 26 hours video playback, up to 21 hours if video streaming and it supports fast charging with up to 50% charge in 30 minutes using a 20W adapter. The just announced iPhone 16e is now available for pre-order in Saudi Arabia. You can place your pre-order on the leading telecom and retailer in the Kingdom.

The iPhone 16e will be only be available in Black and White colors in 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB storage capacities, with starting price of SAR2,799.00 for the 128GB model, SAR3,299.00 for the 256GB and SAR4,299.00 for the 512GB. Pre-order period will be until February 28th 2025 and will start shipping or can be collected until March 7th 2025.

Huawei Mate XT Ultimate Design now available internationally including the Philippines

Aside from Saudi Arabia, the Huawei Mate XT Ultimate Design will also be available internationally. Dominic Preston of The Verge writes, “Despite releasing pricing in Euros, so far the phone is only confirmed to release in Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines, UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Mexico, though more markets are “expected.” Huawei UK public relations specialist Elliot Mulley-Goodbarne did confirm to The Verge that it’s “not coming to the UK or US for the time being.” It’s launching in a single configuration, with 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage.”

In Europe the Huawei Mate XT Ultimate Design will retail for EUR 3,499.00, which when converted to Philippine Pesos will be around ₱211K, and checking the Huawei Philippine website, the company is now accepting pre-orders with a ₱5,000.00 deposit, though the exact price of the tri-fold smartphone is not listed.

It’s official, the tri-fold Huawei Mate XT Ultimate Design is now in Saudi Arabia, the company announced Tuesday, Feb 18, 2025.

The Huawei Mate XT Ultimate Design will be available in 16 GB RAM and 1TB storage model, it will feature a Super Slim Triple-Fold Design, 10.2-inch Hi-Res HUAWEI X-True™ Display, a Octa-core Kirin 9010 (1.55 GHz Cortex-A510) CPU, a triple camera system with a 50 MP Ultra Aperture Camera (F1.4-4.0 aperture,OIS) as the main camera and an 8 MP Selfie Camera (F2.2).
