We’re just in day-one of the 2026 WNBA Free Agency and the Chicago Sky just made a blockbuster trade by sending Angel Reese to the Atlanta Dream for two (2) first-round draft picks in 2027 and ’28. Aside from Angel Reese, Atlanta Dream will also receive 2028 second-round swap rights.

The U.S. Women’s National Team continued its dominant run at the 2026 FIBA World Cup Qualifiers in Puerto Rico, defeating Italy 93–59. Despite Italy’s undefeated start to the tournament, they were no match for the Americans’ clinical shooting and suffocating defensive pressure.
The U.S. shot a staggering 52.4% from beyond the arc, Kahleah Copper lead the Americans with 15 points and Chelsea Gray’s masterful playmaking (8 assists). Young stars Caitlin Clark and Paige Bueckers wowed the crowd in the fourth quarter, scoring 12 points each to seal the victory.
Defensively, the Americans held Italy to just 37.3% shooting, neutralizing threats like Cecilia Zandalasini. While the U.S. has already secured a World Cup berth as AmeriCup champions, this 3–0 start in San Juan, Puerto Rico, reinforces their status as global dominance in Women’s basketball. Italy (2–1) now looks to rebound against Spain to secure their spot in Berlin, while the Women’s USA Team will face New Zealand.
The USA Women’s National Team continued their dominant run in the 2026 FIBA World Cup Qualifiers, defeating host nation Puerto Rico 91–48 in San Juan. Playing before a sold-out crowd at “El Choli,” the Americans never trailed, establishing a commanding 46–19 lead by halftime.
Paige Bueckers led the offensive charge with 16 points, while Angel Reese anchored the interior, recording a double-double with 10 points and a record-breaking 13 rebounds. After a double-double game, Caitlin Clark had 8 points and 2 assists with 18:37 playing time.
Despite a gritty defensive effort from Puerto Rico, the USA’s depth and size proved overwhelming. This victory improves Team USA to 2–0 in the tournament as they solidify their path toward the 2026 World Cup.

The roster is a mix of Olympic champions and rising stars, led by 2024 gold medalists Kahleah Copper, Chelsea Gray, Kelsey Plum, and Jackie Young, alongside 3×3 bronze winners Dearica Hamby and Rhyne Howard. While veteran Aliyah Boston makes her anticipated return, the roster also features the official senior national team debuts of Paige Bueckers, Sonia Citron, Caitlin Clark, Kiki Iriafen, and Angel Reese.
Three-time Olympic and World champion Breanna Stewart will also join the team in Miami for a pre-competition training camp, set for March 7-8.

The coaching staff will be lead by 2025-28 USA Basketball Women’s National Team head coach Kara Lawson (Duke University) with assistant coaches Natalie Nakase (Golden State Valkyries), Nate Tibbetts (Phoenix Mercury) and Stephanie White (Indiana Fever). The 2026 FIBA Women’s World Cup Qualifying Tournament in San Juan, Puerto Rico, from March 11-17, 2026.
The U.S. Women’s team play games against Senegal, Puerto Rico, Italy, New Zealand, and Spain.
The USA Basketball Women’s National Team just announce the 18-player roster for its upcoming training camp, scheduled for December 12-14 at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina.
The camp’s 18-player roster is a mix of championship experience and rising talent. Headlining the group are five 2024 Olympic gold medalists: Kahleah Copper, Chelsea Gray, Brittney Griner, Kelsey Plum, and Jackie Young. Joined by Dearica Hamby, a bronze medalist from the 2024 3×3 Olympic competition. Other accomplished veterans include 2022 FIBA World Cup champion Brionna Jones.
The camp will also mark the senior National Team debut for ten highly anticipated young players: Lauren Betts, Cameron Brink, Paige Bueckers, Veronica Burton, Sonia Citron, Caitlin Clark, Kiki Iriafen, Rickea Jackson, Angel Reese, and JuJu Watkins. Many of these newcomers, including Aliyah Boston, already boast gold medals from various junior and youth international competitions. Kiki Iriafen will make her first appearance with USA Basketball. The roster also features numerous players with 3×3 experience, including Olympic medalists Plum and Young.
The training will be led by 2025-28 Women’s National Team head coach Kara Lawson (Duke University). She will be supported by a veteran coaching staff featuring court coaches Natalie Nakase (Golden State Valkyries, 2025 WNBA COY), Nate Tibbetts (Phoenix Mercury), and Stephanie White (Indiana Fever, 2023 WNBA COY).
Managing Director Sue Bird will use the camp to evaluate the athletes as the program begins preparations for the 2026 FIBA Women’s World Cup in Berlin, where the USA aims to secure an unprecedented fifth consecutive gold medal.
Even though the Fever were without their three point guards, they handed the Sky a 22-point beating (92–70).
Four of the Indiana Fever’s starters scored in double digits: Aliyah Boston with 15 points, Kelsey Mitchell with 26 points (4-of-8 from the three-point line) and 8 assists, Sophie Cunningham with 16 points (3-of-6 from the three-point line), and Lexie Hull with 17 points (4-of-6 from the three-point line). Natasha Howard also contributed 7 points, 10 rebounds, and 2 blocks. The bench also made an impact, especially on the defensive end, with three steals and two blocks. Makayla Timpson added 7 points off the bench.
Sydney Colson and Aari McDonald are both out with season-ending injuries from their last game against Phoenix. Colson suffered a torn left ACL, while McDonald had a broken bone in her right foot. Caitlin Clark is also still out with a groin injury.
Sky are also missing some key players mainly Angel Reese with a back injury and Courtney Vandersloot with a torn right ACL injury.
The Indiana Fever will play their next two games at home, starting with the Dallas Wings this Wednesday. The Sky will visit Connecticut on Thursday.
After losing straight two games against the NYLiberty, the Indiana Fever have won their second straight against the Las Vegas Aces and the latest is against the Chicago Sky. Fever won their last two games without their star PG Caitlin Clark who is out because of a her groin injury and “no timetable available for her return.”
Against the Aces; It was a hard fought game but the Fever manage to win with the clutch 3 from Aari McDonald that gave the Fever an 8-point cushion with less than 40 second remaining in the game.

In their win against the Sky, Kelsey Mitchell lead the Fever with 35 points with seven 3-pointers. Mitchell kept the Fever afloat whenever the Sky made a run, she also made 6 assists and 3 steals to picked up her 200th career steals. Aliyah Boston had 14 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists for the team. Makayla Timpson had 14 points off the bench with 3 steals, and Aari McDonald added 10 points.
For the Sky, Rachel Banham had a career night of 26 points, 6 of 11 three pointers and was the one leading the run for the Sky. Kia Nurse and Rebecca Allen added 14 and 13 points, respectively. This is the second game that Angel Reese missed her second second straight game because of a back issue.

Angel Reese just recorded her first triple-double, powering Chicago Sky in a win against the Connecticut Sun (78 – 66). Angel Reese had 11 points, 11 assists and 13 rebounds for her first triple-double, she is the second youngest WNBA player to record a triple-double, second only to Caitlin Clark, who did it twice in her rookie year at 22 years old.

Helping Reese is her former LSU teammate, Hailey Van Lith who had a career night with 16 points and 5 rebounds from the bench. Kamilla Cardoso added 10 points and 7 rebounds, while Kia Nurse and Ariel Atkins chipped-in 11 points and 10 points, respectively.

It was a close game with Sky leading just 7 points entering the 4th quarter but that’s where separated themselves scoring a 19 points in the period but limiting Sun to just 12 points. Marina Mabrey lead the Sun with 22 points, making 5 three-pointers, with 5 rebounds. Veteran Tina Charles added 19 points and 6 rebounds, and Jacy Sheldon had 12 points. No other Sky player scored more than 6 points.
This is a much needed win for the Sky if they want to be one the playoff team. Chicago will be hosting Washington while Connecticut will travel to Indiana this Tuesday.
The Indiana Fever and Chicago Sky played their first game of the 2025 WNBA season on Saturday, May 17, 2025, at the sold-out Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.
Indiana Fever won the game convincingly with a final score of 93-58. Caitlin Clark led the Fever with a triple-double, recording 20 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists. She also had a career-high four blocks. This was Clark’s third triple-double of her WNBA career, tying her with Candace Parker for the third-most in league history.
Together with Clark, Aliyah Boston of the Fever also had a strong performance with a double-double, scoring 19 points and grabbing 13 rebounds with 5 blocks. Making her debut for the Fever, Natasha Howard and Kelsey Mitchell each scored 15 points. DeWanna Bonner, another offseason addition for the Fever, also had a historic night, scoring 7 points and moving her into third place on the WNBA’s all-time scoring list, surpassing Tina Thompson. She now has 7,489 career points.

In the second quarter, the Fever tightened their defense, allowing the Sky to score just 15 points while managing to build a 13-point lead by the end of the first half (45-32). In the second half, the Fever’s offensive firepower was on full display, scoring 48 points while restricting the Chicago Sky to just 26 points in the same period.
For the Chicago Sky, Angel Reese had a double-double with 12 points and 17 rebounds, Ariel Atkins added 11 points.
There was a heated moment in the third quarter when Caitlin Clark committed a hard foul on Angel Reese. The foul was reviewed and upgraded to a flagrant 1. Technical fouls were also assessed to Reese and Boston after Reese confronted Clark.
Caitlin Clark isn’t messing around this season. A triple double, a route over the Sky and then a smart foul that set off her nemesis. This drama is good for the WNBA. This shouldn’t have been deemed a flagrant foul.

A not so good news for Chicago Sky fans and fans of Angel Reese. The news comes at a time when Chicago Sky are fighting for the final playoff spot. The Sky have 6 remaining games and are currently 8th in the standings with 12-22 (win-loss), the same with Atlanta Dream and just a game ahead of Washington Mystics (11-23).
The WNBA has secured a groundbreaking 11-year media rights deal with The Walt Disney Company, Amazon Prime Video, and NBC Universal. This partnership will significantly increase the visibility of women’s basketball, with more games broadcast across multiple platforms. The 11-year media rights is reported to be worth $2.2 Billion or $200 million per year.
The new deal will start in 2026, WNBA fans can expect to see over 125 regular season and playoff games each year. Disney will air 25 regular-season games on ABC, ESPN, and ESPN2, while NBCU will broadcast 50 regular-season games on NBC, USA Network, and Peacock. Amazon Prime Video will stream 30 regular-season games globally.
Disney will broadcast two first-round series each year, while NBCU and Prime Video will each air one. The Semifinals and Finals will rotate over the 11-year deal, with Disney airing more Finals and NBCU and Prime Video airing more Semifinals.

Included in the deals, is the potential for WNBA and Media Partners to review and reevaluate the rights fees after three years, giving the league the chance to receive more money.
