The Atlanta Dream finished off the New York Liberty with an 85-83 win in Game 3 of the WNBA Semifinals on Friday, completing a 3-0 sweep and earning a Finals date with the Golden State Valkyries.
Atlanta, the No. 4 seed, opened with a 25-18 first quarter and built a 12-point lead at the start of the 3rd quarter. New York, the No. 8 seed that had upset top-seeded Minnesota in the first round, answered with a 29-point third quarter to lead 68-66 entering the fourth. The Dream outscored the Liberty 19-15 in the final period to hold on.
Angel Reese led Atlanta with 22 points and nine rebounds, while Rhyne Howard added 21. Jordin Canada orchestrated the offense with 19 points and 11 assists, and DeWanna Bonner posted 13 points and 13 rebounds. Atlanta committed just eight turnovers and turned New York’s 10 into 12 points.

Breanna Stewart scored 26 for the Liberty, going a perfect 13-of-13 at the free-throw line, and Jonquel Jones added 26 points and 14 rebounds. New York piled up 24 second-chance points but couldn’t close the gap.
