The Atlanta Dream extended their postseason run with a thrilling 101-98 overtime victory over the New York Liberty in Game 2 of the WNBA Semifinals, seizing a 2-0 series lead.
Angel Reese delivered a dominant performance for Atlanta, recording 23 points and seven rebounds, including six key points during the extra period. Point guard Jordin Canada matched Reese with 23 points alongside eight assists to pace the Dream’s attack. New York star Breanna Stewart put up a game-high 35 points and 11 rebounds, lighting up the scoreboard early with 25 first-half points. Jonquel Jones added 21 points and eight rebounds for the Liberty, but New York struggled with 16 total turnovers.
The physical contest feature late lead changes down the stretch in regulation. In overtime, Naz Hillmon scored the go-ahead layup with 20.8 seconds remaining. After Sabrina Ionescu committed a critical turnover on the ensuing possession, Reese sealed the victory with two late free throws.
