In a pivotal, high-stakes and defensive showdown at State Farm Arena, the Golden State Valkyries grind out a crucial 67-62 victory over the Atlanta Dream on Saturday afternoon to even the 2026 WNBA Finals at two games apiece.
Golden State outscored the Dream 42-26 before halftime, including a 26-15 second quarter, and led by as many as 16. The Valkyries’ defense did most the damage, forcing 18 Atlanta turnovers while committing only nine and converting those giveaways into 16 points. Atlanta shot 33.3 percent from the floor and just 4-for-23 from three-point range.
Gabby Williams led Golden State with 17 points, five rebounds and three steals. Tiffany Hayes added 13 points, and Veronica Burton scored 13 with five assists, three steals and two blocks despite a 4-for-17 shooting night. Kiah Stokes dominated the glass with 16 rebounds, eight of them offensive with three blocks.

Atlanta, which took a 2-1 series lead with a 97-71 blowout in Game 3, fought back after the break, winning the third quarter 19-12 and the fourth 17-13. Its offense never found a rhythm against Golden State’s pressure. Rhyne Howard paced the Dream with 19 points and eight rebounds, and Naz Hillmon added nine rebounds. Angel Reese struggled, finishing 2-of-12 from the field with eight points, nine rebounds and six turnovers.
The Dream got to the line 31 times and made 22, but the early deficit proved too deep, and Golden State avoided falling behind 3-1, which could mean disaster for the Valks.
With the series tied 2-2, the series now shifts back to San Francisco for Game 5 at Chase Center on Monday night, with Game 6 returning to Atlanta on Thursday. The winner will be one victory from a title, while the loser will need to win twice in a row to survive, something Atlanta did earlier in this series when it took Games 2 and 3.
