On October 24, King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh advised passengers to confirm their flight status with their airlines as security alerts followed a wave of Houthi missile and drone attacks.
Saudi air defenses intercepted projectiles aimed at Makkah, Madinah, and other locations, though debris landed in several areas, including Wadi Al-Mughammis near the Grand Mosque, Jeddah’s Al-Nuzha district, and Taif.
Houthi spokesperson Yahya Saree said the group targeted the airport, refineries, and pipelines, while denying any attempt to hit the holy cities. Saudi officials stressed the danger to populated areas. No casualties were reported, and civil defense confirmed the threat had passed.
