12 Dead, 309 Injured in Deadly Attack Targeting Riyadh’s King Khalid International Airport, GACA Confirms

A lethal attack targeting King Khalid International Airport (KKIA) in Riyadh on Saturday, October 10, 2026 (29 Rabi’ Al-Thani 1448H) resulted in 12 fatalities and left 309 individuals injured, Saudi Arabia’s General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) confirmed in a follow-up official statement.

According to the aviation authority, the casualties include citizens and international residents of multiple nationalities:

  • Fatalities (12): 4 Saudi citizens, 2 Bangladeshi nationals, 1 American, 1 Egyptian, 1 Jordanian, 1 Syrian, 1 Palestinian, and 1 Sudanese national.
  • Injured (309): Hundreds of individuals sustained injuries of varying severity, with several currently in critical condition.

All injured victims were transported to multiple hospitals across the capital, where they are receiving critical medical care.

The strike also caused structural and material property damage at the complex. GACA confirmed that damage assessment teams and emergency responders are actively evaluating the full extent of the destruction in coordination with relevant security and civil defence authorities. Operations at the airport were temporarily suspended following the strike while safety inspections were conducted.

The incident follows a surge in security threats targeting civil aviation facilities in the region. International governments and diplomatic missions have issued strong statements condemning the targeting of civilian infrastructure and expressing solidarity with the Kingdom.

Travelers passing through or departing from King Khalid International Airport are advised to contact their respective air carriers directly to verify flight statuses before traveling to the airport terminals.
