Canon Inc. has closed its laser printer manufacturing plant in the Philippines, marking the Japanese electronics company’s exit from manufacturing operations in the country as global printing demand shrinks.
Canon Business Machines Philippines (CBMP) ceased operations at its Batangas facility on June 19, 2026.
As the title suggests, 1,400 employees will be losing their job, even though Canon Ph said “affected workers would receive severance packages and job-placement assistance.” it will still be different from what these 1,400 employees have been receiving from Canon.
