Fever routs Mystics to clinch playoff spot (94 – 65)

The Indiana Fever has secured their playoff spot after defeating the Washington Mystics (94 – 65). Fever clinched the playoff despite missing five players to season-ending injuries, including their Superstar Caitlin Clark to groin injury.

It was a competitive first half, with the Fever leading by just seven points. But in the 3rd quarter, the Fever limited the Mystics to just 9 points while scoring 17 points, and then in the final frame, the Fever ran away with the game, leading by as much as 33 points before closing the game 94 – 65.

Natasha Howard led the Fever with 17 points, with another solid game from Aliyah Boston with 12 points, 11 rebounds, and 5 assists, and Kelsey Mitchell added 10 points. Shey Peddy and Aerial Powers, Indiana’s recent additions via “hardship signing,” made solid contributions, scoring 13 points and 15 points, respectively.

Rookie sensation Sonia Citron led the Washington Mystics with 17 points, with Shakira Austin and fellow rookie Kiki Iriafen scoring 11 points apiece. No other Washington player scored more than 7 points. Citron set a new Washington Mystics scoring record for total points in a season at 644 points, passing Brittney Sykes’ previous mark of 636 in 2023.

With just one more game, the Fever are already assured of a 7th seed in the playoffs, and they have a chance to move up to the 6th seed if the Golden State Warriors lose their game against the Seattle Storm. Both teams are fighting for their playoff spot.

The Indiana Fever will face the Minnesota Lynx for their last game of the season while the Mystics will face the New York Liberty.

Indiana Fever’s Caitlin Clark is Questionable for her Preseason game against the Mystics

Indiana just announced (tweet above) that Fever superstar Caitlin Clark is questionable in their first season game against the Washington Mystics. The team said that this is due to a left leg injury.

It’s unclear if Clark will totally miss the game or will play on a limited capacity but one thing is for sure, a lot of Fever, particularly, CC fans are not happy to hear the news.

Jordan Poole beat the buzzer for the Wizards win over the Nuggets (126 – 123)

It was a Poole’s party in Denver when Jordan Poole sank a 3-pointer with 5.3 seconds remaining in the game, spoiling another 40-point game by Jokic. Poole scored 19 points and 6 assists. Wizards rookie Alex Sarr had a career night, scoring 34 points with 6 rebounds and 5 assists.

Nikola Jokic, led the Nuggets with 40 points, 13 rebounds and 9 assists, while Jamal Murray added 24 points and Russell Westbrook finished the game with 22 points, 4 rebounds and 11 assists.

Nuggets will travel to San Francisco to face the streaking Warriors on Tuesday night, while the Wizards will visit the Blazers in Portland, this Monday night.

Golden State win 4th straight game over the Washington Wizards (125-112)

Steph Curry scored 24 points in 24 minutes in his return from ankle injury to help the Warriors win its 4th straight game in a victory over the Wizards.

Curry missed the 3 games due to an ankle injury he suffered in a lost against the Clippers. The Warriors despite the absence of Curry, the Warriors manage to win 3 straight games thanks to Buddy Heild’s hot shooting and Warriors bench.

Against the Wizrds, Heild scored 20 points and 5 rebounds, followed by Draymond Green’s 18 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists.

Jordan Poole led the Wizards with 24 points, rookie Kyshawn George added 20 points and 6 rebounds. Washington will start their five-game road trip in Memphis this Friday night. The Warriors will visit Boston on Wednesday evening.

Washington Superstar Bradley Beal headed to Phoenix Suns

Just barely into the offseason and just 3 days before the NBA Draft, we now have a blockbuster trade that will bring Wizard Superstar Bradley Beal going to Phoenix Suns, with guard Jordan Goodwin. Suns in turn will send Chris Paul, Landry Shamet, multiple second-round picks and pick swaps to Wizards.

The deal became possible after Beal waived his “no-trade” clause in his contract. This was reported by ESPN Senior NBA Insider Adrian Wojnarowski, the deal will take a few of days to be finalized.

The trade will form another Durant-lead “Super team” with Devin Booker and Kevin Durant, with Deandre Ayton as the Suns top players. The trade will definitely affect the depth of the team which was diminished when the Suns traded for Durant last season.
