Stewart, Fiebich Power Liberty Past Clinched Fever in 109-102 Thriller

The Indiana Fever couldn’t complete the comeback in Brooklyn on Saturday night, dropping a 109-102 decision to the New York Liberty at Barclays Center in the fourth and final regular-season meeting between the two clubs. This is Indiana’s second straight loss for their 5 game road trip, but it did little to dampen the bigger picture: the Fever are already a lock for the 2026 WNBA playoffs, and every game left on the schedule is now about seeding rather than survival.

New York controlled most of the night behind a balanced, healthy attack — something the Liberty hadn’t had in weeks. Jonquel Jones got going early despite a banged-up ankle, scoring 17 points and grabbing seven rebounds in the first half alone as New York built a 53-49 lead at the break. The Liberty tried pulled away in the third quarter when Sabrina Ionescu and returning forward Leonie Fiebich combined for 19 of the team’s 31 points in the period, stretching the lead to 85-78 heading into the fourth.

Indiana didn’t go quietly. The Fever clawed back to tie the game at 100 late, powered by a Kelsey Mitchell three-pointer, before New York closed the door at the free-throw line and on a tough Fiebich bucket through contact with under a minute remaining. A missed Caitlin Clark layup on the ensuing possession sealed New York’s win.

The result moves the Liberty to 23-15 on the season, while the Fever slip to 24-14.

The performance also gave her the WNBA record for consecutive 20-point games, her 21st in a row, surpassing A’ja Wilson’s previous mark. Fever Hold Off Tempo to Capture 24th Victory of the Season (101 – 95)

The Indiana Fever extended their winning streak to five games with a hard-fought 101-95 road victory over the Toronto Tempo. Controlling the pace from the opening tip, the Fever leaned on a blistering first quarter to build a double-digit lead that they maintained despite a late fourth-quarter surge from the hosts.

For the Fever, Kelsey Mitchell put on a masterclass, exploding for 29 points—including 16 in the opening frame—while tying the WNBA record for consecutive 20+ point games at 20. Caitlin Clark heavily supported the offense with 24 points and 7 assists, orchestrating a dynamic backcourt duo that consistently kept Toronto’s defense on its heels.

On the other side, the Tempo fought valiantly to snap their skid, led by Marina Mabrey, who poured in 22 points, igniting a frantic late-game rally with clutch perimeter shooting. Fever Outlast Dream 95–91 in Overtime Thriller in Atlanta (95-91)

The Indiana Fever escaped State Farm Arena with a 95–91 overtime victory over the Atlanta Dream on Sunday, a crucial result with major playoff-seeding implications. The win extended Indiana’s (23–12) lead over Atlanta (21–13) to 1½ games, evened the season series at 2–2, and denied the Dream a head-to-head tiebreaker with ten regular-season games remaining.

The game was a back-and-forth battle throughout. Atlanta closed the first half on a 17-4 run for a 44-40 lead, powered by Allisha Gray, who finished with a career-high 32 points. The Dream stretched the lead to eight in the third quarter before Indiana’s defense clamped down, holding Atlanta to nine points in the fourth as the Fever clawed back to tie it.

Atlanta had the final look to win it in regulation, but the chance slipped away: Rhyne Howard’s missed three set up an Angel Reese putback that rolled off the rim, and a second attempt off a Naz Hillmon rebound also failed to fall, sending the game to overtime tied at 81.

Atlanta briefly grabbed the lead in overtime, but Indiana answered with a decisive run. Makayla Timpson was the story of the extra period, repeatedly scoring in the paint on her way to a career-high 20 points. Aliyah Boston added a double-double game, and the Fever pushed the lead out before Atlanta cut it to 93-91 in the final seconds. Caitlin Clark, who finished with 26 points and 9 assists, sealed it with two free throws and the game’s final rebound.

Kelsey Mitchell added 20 points, extending her WNBA-record streak of 20-point games to 19 straight, while Boston nearly notched a triple-double with 18 points, 14 rebounds, 5 steals, and 3 blocks. The win opens a demanding stretch for Indiana, the first of five games in eight days as the Fever push toward the postseason.

Fever Outlast Sky Behind Mitchell’s 27 Points and Clark’s Double-Double (90 – 86)

The contest wasn’t without drama. During the third quarter, Clark received a controversial technical foul after stumbling out of bounds and inadvertently bumping into an official. For Las Vegas, A’ja Wilson was the top performer, pouring in 26 points, 13 rebounds, and two blocks while also coming up with the defensive stop that set up Gray’s game-winner. Jackie Young chipped in 22 points, including a stretch of 15 straight Aces points spanning the first and second halves.

Mitchell and Boston Shine as Shorthanded Fever Roll Past Sparks (111 – 87)

The Indiana Fever delivered a dominant team performance to secure an emphatic 111-87 victory over the Los Angeles Sparks. The convincing win came despite both teams missing their signature stars: Indiana took the court without the injured Caitlin Clark (back), while the Sparks were forced to adapt without offensive powerhouse Kelsey Plum (left leg) and Cameron Brink (left ankle).

In Clark’s absence, the Fever’s starting lineup stepped up remarkably to share the load. Kelsey Mitchell paced the efficient offense with a game-high 26 points, showcasing brilliant accuracy from beyond the arc with a 4 of 6 shooting. Center Aliyah Boston set the tone early, anchoring the interior with 17 points and 7 rebounds—scoring 15 in the first half alone to catalyze Indiana’s breakout lead. Nneka Ogwumike led Los Angeles with a resilient 17 points and 7 rebounds, while Dearica Hamby contributed 15 points in the effort. Ultimately, Indiana’s cohesive ball movement and scorching 55% shooting efficiency proved too overwhelming for the visitors to overcome.

Fever Fall Short Against the Mercury in 111-109 Thriller After Caitlin Clark Exits with Injury

This was Indiana’s first game of their three-game homestand and the Fever staged a remarkable comeback to defeat the Phoenix Mercury 86-77 in a highly charged matchup at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.

The game began as an absolute disaster for Indiana. The Fever endured a historically abysmal first quarter, scoring just six points—tied for the fourth-fewest in franchise history. Phoenix capitalized on the cold stretch, racing out to an early 16-point advantage behind sharp execution.

The game started as a high-octane offensive shootout, with the Indiana Fever putting together a historic first half. Driven by Caitlin Clark’s hot hand early, Indiana opened the game shooting a perfect 8-for-8, racking up 37 points in the opening frame—the third-most in a single quarter in franchise history. Backed by Kelsey Mitchell’s 16 first-half points, the Fever held a narrow 59-56 lead at intermission.

Then came the third quarter, and everything went wrong for Indiana. Heavy whistle trouble combined with a wave of sloppy play completely sapped the Fever’s offensive rhythm. Indiana gave away the ball 19 times throughout the afternoon, with Clark committing seven of those turnovers herself. Atlanta capitalized on the mistakes immediately, suffocating the Fever with a 28-15 third-quarter surge to pull ahead 84-74.

By the time the fourth quarter rolled around, the Dream comfortably enjoyed that 10-point cushion. Indiana had no answers left in the tank, allowing Atlanta’s lead to balloon to as much as 22 points before settling at a final 113-96 blowout victory.

Statistically, the Fever were led by Clark’s 26 points and 7 assists, while Mitchell finished with 16 points and Aliyah Boston chipped in 13 points and seven defensive rebounds, a milestone that pushed her past 800 career defensive boards. However, the afternoon belonged to Atlanta. Rhyne Howard paced the Dream with 24 points, while Jordin Canada orchestrated the offense beautifully with 12 points and 12 assists, scoring eight critical points in the defining third quarter without committing a single turnover. Angel Reese also entered the history books during the contest, scoring 18 points and grabbing eight rebounds to become the fastest player in WNBA history to reach 1,000 career rebounds, achieving the feat in just 79 games. Backed by massive bench performances from Allisha Gray with 22 points and Naz Hillmon with 19, Atlanta coasted to a franchise-record 113 points.

Dream’s Angel Reese Clinches Rare Win Over Caitlin Clark Despite Big 3 Outburst and ‘Caitlin 1’ Debut (108 -101)

The rivalry between Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese added a thrilling new chapter during a high-stakes showdown between the Indiana Fever and the Atlanta Dream. In a dramatic, high-scoring battle, the Dream walked away with a tight 108-101 victory. For Reese—who joined Atlanta earlier in the 2026 season—this marked a rare and massive head-to-head victory over Clark, breaking a dominant stretch of head-to-head wins by the Fever guard.

Despite the loss, Indiana’s ā€œBig 3ā€ put on an absolute clinic. With Caitlin Clark, Aliyah Boston, and Kelsey Mitchell firing on all cylinders, the Fever stayed highly competitive throughout the entire game, proving why they are one of the most dangerous trios in the league. Together, the three stars accounted for 75 of Indiana’s 101 total points. Clark led the way with 26 points, 7 assists, and 2 rebounds, while Mitchell matched her with 26 points of her own. Meanwhile, Boston anchored the paint, stuffing the stat sheet with 23 points, 8 rebounds, 3 assists, and 3 blocks.

However, the Atlanta Dream countered with an elite, balanced attack where all five starters scored in double digits. The charge was led by Reese, who anchored the paint with 21 points and 11 rebounds on 8-of-14 shooting to secure her 10th double-double of the season. Alongside her, Jordin Canada orchestrated the offense seamlessly to push the pace, finishing with 18 points. Rhyne Howard provided the crucial backcourt execution to close out the fourth quarter, delivering 16 points and 6 assists while hitting critical, back-to-back buckets late to stifle the Fever’s comeback.

Adding to the historic and play-off athmosphere of the night, the game served as the official on-court debut of Clark’s highly anticipated first signature sneaker, the Nike Caitlin 1. While the Dream spoiled the Clark’s sneaker maiden voyage, the combination of elite hoops, a rare Reese victory, and fresh sneaker history made this an unforgettable night for women’s basketball.
