The Indonesian government has banned the sales of Google Pixel in the country even though they are not officially distributed in the country.
The banned was made because Google has not met the rules that requires smartphone sold locally should contain at least 40% of the parts made domestically.
“We are pushing these rules so that there’s fairness for all investors in Indonesia,” Febri Hendri Antoni Arief, industry ministry spokesperson, said on Thursday. “Google’s products have not adhered to the scheme we set, so they can’t be sold here.”
The ban for the Google Pixel comes a week after the country blocked Apple from selling the new iPhone 16 locally due to the same content rules.
Together with the new iMac and Mac mini, Apple has updated the Macbook Pro with the new M4 family of chips. Apple appears to be just refreshing the processor and camera then keeping the same specs.

Joining the new iMac, Apple also announce a new and powerful Mac mini.
Spec-wise, the Mac mini is one of the most powerful pc in the market. Powered by the Apple’s new M4 and M4 Pro chip. Taking stage at the Snapdragon Summit, Honor has officially unveil the Magic 07 Pro. Powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, the Honor Magic 07 Pro will feature a new on-device AI assistant (named YOYO) that will be part of MagicOS 9.0 (Android 15).
Aside from using the new Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, Honor’s CMO Dr. Ray Guo did not reveal too much about the new Honor Magic7 Pro, since the Honor will have their own event launching the Honor Magic7 Pro and the new MagicOS 9.0 on the 30th of October.
At the Snapdragon Summit, Qualcomm has officially unveil the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, the company’s “most powerful and world’s fastest mobile system-on-a-chip ever.”
The new Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite processor will debut the 2nd-generation custom-built Oryon CPU, Adreno GPU and the enhanced Hexagon NPU. The company also said that the new Snapdragon 8 Elite offers CPU speeds up to 4.32GHz and up to 40% improved performance and 40% better power efficiency on the Adreno GPU side. And with the Hexagon NPU, the new Snapdragon 8 Elite processor delivers a 45% AI performance improvement and 45% better performance per watt.
Qualcomm also named ASUS, Honor, iQOO, OnePlus, OPPO, RealMe, Samsung, Vivo, Xiaomi and more, as some of the OEMs and smartphone to announce devices powered by the the new Snapdragon 8 Elite, in the coming weeks.
Apple just announced the new iPad mini, it features the A17 Pro chip, the same chip that was used in the iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max.
Spec-wise, the new iPad mini features a 8.3-inches Liquid Retina display, 2266-by-1488 resolution at 326 ppi and 500 nits brightness. The new iPad Mini will only have one 12MP wide camera at the back (ƒ/1.8 aperture) and a 12MP Ultra Wide front camera (ƒ/2.4 aperture).
Powered by the A17 Pro chip and its advanced neural engine, the new iPad Mini will support Apple Intelligence once the free software update with iPadOS 18.1 becomes available later this month.

Samsung KSA has announced that the Galaxy S24 FE is now available in Saudi Arabia. First announced last month, the Samsung Galaxy S24 FE is a 6.7-inch smartphone that’s powered by Samsung Exynos 2400e and feature a Dynamic AMOLED display with 1080 x 2340 (FHD+) resolution, 16M color depth and 120 Hz max refresh rate. The also features Samsung’s Galaxy AI, which is an “on-device AI that powers features like real-time translation and image generation.” The Samsung Galaxy AI was first announced at the Galaxy Unpacked July 2024.
It has a triple rear camera setup (50.0 MP + 12.0 MP + 8.0 MP) and a 10.0 MP front facing camera. The Galaxy S24 FE will have 8GB RAM and the storage will be up to 512GB. The Galaxy S24 FE will be in 4 colors; blue, graphite, marble gray and mint. From Sony World, the official Sony distributor in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, said that the PlayStation 5 Pro will be available in store by 7th November 2024 and with a retail price of SAR 3,399.00 or around ₱50,717.15 with the current exchange rate. If the release of the PS 5Pro will be similar to its predecessor, then expect a shortage of the gaming console once it become available, specially this holiday season.
Nothing has announced the Nothing Ear (open), the company’s first open-ear wireless earbuds. As reported on Yugatech, the new Nothing Ear (open) features “open-ear, semi-transparent design with wraparound ear hooks.”

The company has yet to announce the availability in Saudi Arabia and Philippines even though it is posted online that the Nothing Ear (open) will retail for 599.00 SR or ₱8,990.00.
China-based Anker just announce the recall for their Anker 334 MagGo Battery (PowerCore 10K), Anker Power Bank and Anker MagGo Power Bank (Model: A1642/A1647/A1652), since it poses a fire risk due to a manufacturing defect. The lithium-ion battery in the affected powerbanks can overheat, potentially causing melting of plastic components, smoke and fire hazards.
The company said that “small number of batteries (a batch used in the products from January 3, 2024, to September 17, 2024) may be affected by this issue, out of an abundance of caution, we are reaching out to all customers to begin a Recall program.”
Anker also created a form where you can verify if your product is affected. The company recommended that users to stop using the affected powerbank and dispose them at a facility that accepts lithium batteries or store them in a safe location.
Apple is significantly increasing prices for out-of-warranty battery replacements, this time for the iPhone 16 Pro models.
The new cost of an out-of-warranty battery replacement for the two larger models of the latest iPhone is $119, up from the $99 cost for the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max. The cost remains $99 for the regular iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus.
Apple last increased the cost of out-of-warranty battery replacement with the iPhone 14 models in 2022. Prices went up from $69 to $99.
Iphone 15 and 16 owners will more or less just shrug this aside, since they have at least have 1 years of limited warranty and 2 years of technical support and hardware coverage if purchase AppleCare+ with their purchase. By the time the batteries of the iPhone 15 and 16 need to be replaced, Apple may have already increased the prices.

The third product that HONOR has announced is the HONOR MagicBook Art 14, a 14.6-inch laptop with an OLED screen and 3120×2080 screen resolution. DJI is scheduled to announce their upcoming new NEO drone this 5th of September. Not much is known about the NEO drone, aside from this page and this 4 secs video that was published on their official twitter account.
Sources suggests that NEO is the smallest “First-Person View” (FPV) drone that DJI will release. It is rumored to be a lightweight and highly portable drone, weighing only 135 grams, it will have 4K ultra-stabilized video capabilities and of course “AI” features for subject tracking and quickshots. Of course nothing is official until it’s officially announce, that is why we may need to wait until Sept 5, 2025 to know more about the DJI NEO.
