During the opening rites of the 43rd PBA Season, Chito Narvasa has submitted his resignation as the PBA Commissioner, PBA external affairs and media bureau chief Willie Marcial will now be the officer in charge (OIC) while they look for look for a new Commissioner. FIBA announced that FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 will be hosted by Philippines, Japan and Indonesia, the first-ever multiple hosts for said contest.
