Doc Rivers will step down as coach of the LA Clippers, after the team’s second round exit against the Denver Nuggets.
The team announced that the split is a “mutual decision” between Chairman Steve Ballmer and Doc Rivers. “Doc has been a terrific coach for the Clippers, an incredible ambassador, and a pillar of strength during tumultuous times,” Ballmer said. “He won a heck of a lot of games and laid a foundation for this franchise.”
Considered as on of the most successful coach in the NBA, at 58, he is the most successful head coach in Clippers history, compiling a record of 356-208 over seven seasons. It’s unclear what’s next for Doc Rivers but is been reported that he received calls for 76ers and Pelicans for a Head Coach position. Doc Rivers have two years left on his contract.

TnT Katropa has acquired center Poy Erram in a three-team trade involving NLEX and Blackwater.
The 6-9 slotman was acquired by the KaTropa from the Blackwater Elite, who reacquired Erram from NLEX in exchange for Anthony Semerad and Rabeh Al Hussaini.
In addition, the Road Warriors also acquired the rights to Blackwater’s 2020 first round pick and 2021 second round draft pick.
Blackwater eventually dealt Erram to the Katropa for Marion Magat, Ed Daquioag, Yousef Taha and TNT’s 2021 and 2022 first round picks.
I feel that the TNT is the clear winner in this deal and they become a clear contender in the coming All Filipino conference.

NBA backtracked its decision to not allow Cleveland Guard Jordan Clarkson to play for the Philippines in the 2018 Asian Games.
On their official statement, NBA said “Due to a lack of clear communication of that agreement between the NBA and the Chinese and Philippines Basketball Federations, and after further discussions with both Federations, the NBA has agreed to provide this one-time exception,”

The same “one-time exception” was also be given to Chinese NBA players Zhou Qi of the Houston Rockets and Ding Yanyuhang of the Dallas Mavericks.
Jordan Clarkson is currently traveling to Indonesia but won’t be able to join the Philippine team in their first game, since he is expected to arrive in Jakarta at 10 a.m. of Thursday, which is the same day the Philippines kicks off its game against Kazakhstan.
Jordan Clarkson also posted this on his Facebook account.

In this ESPN 5 article, PBA commissioner Willie Marcial said that the Rain or Shine (RoS) management remains willing to send its team to the Asian Games.
If PBA players are not available, why not just send selection of college players which is what the Philippines have been doing before they started sending pros in 1990.
