Wings End Fever’s Run With Gritty Home Win (91 – 85)

The Dallas Wings ended the Indiana Fever’s five-game winning streak with a 91-85 road win on Thursday night, powered by a season-high 32 points from Arike Ogunbowale and a career-best 26 from Jessica Shepard.

Despite the loss, Indiana’s Kelsey Mitchell was the standout of the night. She matched her season high with 37 points, scoring 21 before halftime, and shot 4-of-7 from three while going a perfect 15-for-15 at the free-throw line. The performance also gave her the WNBA record for consecutive 20-point games, her 21st in a row, surpassing A’ja Wilson’s previous mark. Caitlin Clark added 10 points and nine assists, while Awak Kuier chipped in 11 points, eight rebounds, and a career-high seven blocks for Dallas.

Indiana Fever Rally Past Dallas Wings in 98–82 Showdown

The Indiana Fever secured a 98–87 victory over the Dallas Wings at Gainbridge Fieldhouse, breaking open a tight contest with a decisive fourth-quarter surge. Dallas held a 66–63 lead entering the final frame, but Indiana responded with a 35–21 fourth quarter to lock in the win.

Caitlin Clark led the Fever with a game-high double-double of 29 points and 10 assists. She got plenty of help from her core supporting cast: Aliyah Boston delivered a dominant 16-point, 10-rebound double-double—scoring 10 of her points in the fourth quarter—while Kelsey Mitchell added 23 points to extend her single-season WNBA record with an 18th consecutive 20-point game. Sharpshooter Tyasha Harris provided a critical spark off the bench, going a perfect 5-for-5 from beyond the arc for 15 points, hitting key three-pointers in the final frame to seal the game.

For Dallas, 2nd year guard Paige Bueckers paced the effort with 29 points, six rebounds, and six assists, spearheading the offense alongside Arike Ogunbowale’s 20 points. Both teams will square off again when the Wings host the Fever at the American Airlines Center on August 20, 2026.

Ionescu, Plum, and Mitchell Among Stars “Cored” for 2026 WNBA

Alexa Philippou, writing for ESPN;

Ten of 15 WNBA teams have extended core qualifying offers to players since free agency started Monday.

Players who have been “cored” — akin to being given the NFL’s franchise tag — include Sabrina Ionescu, by the New York Liberty; Napheesa Collier (Minnesota Lynx); Kelsey Mitchell (Indiana Fever); Kelsey Plum, (Los Angeles Sparks); and Arike Ogunbowale (Dallas Wings).

The core designation gives a team exclusive negotiating rights to a player and comes with a baseline contract of a fully guaranteed one-year deal worth the supermax ($1.4 million in 2026), though the player can negotiate different terms.

Here’s the full list of cored players, via @alexaphilippou

  • Atlanta: Allisha Gray
  • Chicago: Ariel Atkins
  • Dallas: Arike Ogunbowale
  • Indiana: Kelsey Mitchell
  • LA: Kelsey Plum
  • Minnesota: Napheesa Collier
  • NY: Sabrina Ionescu
  • Portland: Bridget Carleton
  • Seattle: Ezi Magbegor

Fever Extends Win Streak against Wings (88 – 78)

The Indiana Fever are on a roll as they win their 4th straight games at the expense of Dallas Wings.

It was a close game in the first half but building a 13-point lead, the Fever never trailed again even though Dallas was able to cut the lead to just 6 points (75 – 69).

Four of the five Indiana starters scored in double-digit points. Kelsey Mitchell had 23 points, Aliyah Boston had 12 points and 11 rebounds, and Natasha Howard added 11 points and a career-high-tying 16 rebounds. Both Boston and Howard also had five assists for Indiana. Aari McDonald continues to be a big factor while Caitlin Clark is sidelined; she had 12 points and 6 assists.

Paige Bueckers continues to be the leader for the Wings, she was the one who kept the game close but her 22 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists was not enough to get them the win. Another bad shooting game for Arike Ogunbowale, scoring 8 points but only had 1 field goal.

Full Game Highlights;

The Indiana Fever will start their three-game road trip this Sunday against the Seattle Storm. Meanwhile, Dallas will play two consecutive games against the New York Liberty, starting this Wednesday and then again this Saturday.
