A fan is selling realistic celebrity portraits to pay for his mother’s hospital bills

An artistic fan is selling his realistic drawings of celebrities to help pay for the hospital bills of his mother.

Ritzel Obreque Oyao said in his facebook post;

I’m selling all my Fan Art portrait para pang pagamot kay mama😪 .. huhu

Ritzel Obreque Oyao added that his parents are not PhilHealth beneficiaries, which could make the hospital bill expensive. Oyao continued that all “the portraits of ABS-CBN artists are reserved,” which indicates, that they have been bought already.

Ritzel Obreque Oyao’s drawing are nothing to sneeze at, since they’re realistic and can be mistaken to be the black and white photos than drawings.

PhilHealth premiums for OFW is only voluntary for the duration of the pandemic

Even though it was reported that President Duterte directs PhilHealth to make the payment of premiums voluntary for OFWs, it appears that this only true during the COVID-19 pandemic but R.A. 11223 a.k.a. Universal Health Care Act of 2019 will still be enforced once the country is in the clear.

PhilHealth did reiterates that the Universal Health Care Act of 2019 is “pending amendments of the Law, if any, by the Congress of the Republic of the Philippines.” So until the UHC Law is amended, PhilHealth will still enforced it.

Class will remain suspended unless there is a COVID-19 vaccine – President Duterte

In their latest meeting, President Duterte reiterates that classes will remain suspended in the country unless there is an available vaccine against COVID-19.

Here’s what President Duterte said in the meeting;

I will not allow the opening of classes na magdikit dikit ‘yang mga bata. Bahala nang hindi na makatapos. For this generation walang makatapos na doktor pati engineer.

Wala nang aral, laro na lang unless I am sure that they are really safe. It’s useless to be talking about the opening of classes. Para sa akin, bakuna muna. Yang mga bata. Bahala nang hindi na makatapos. For this generation walang makatapos na doktor pati engineer.

President Duterte’s statement came after DepEd announced earlier that class for school year 2020 – 2021 will open on August 24, 3030. DepEd later clarified that the August opening date did not mean that students needs to be inside the classroom, since distance learning would be implemented.

The President addresses various concerns and issues as the country continues to battle the COVID-19, with the National Capital Region (NCR) or Metro Manila and other cities still placed under the Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine (MECQ) until May 31, 2020.

He calls on every Filipino to brace for the ‘new normal’ that would provide for more relaxed quarantine protocols while reviving local and national economies. He also urges the people for their full cooperation in following the minimum health standards such as frequent hand washing, wearing of face masks and observing social distancing measures to help flatten the curve. He asks for every Filipino to uphold the bayanihan spirit and resiliency as the country continues to battle the first wave of the COVID-19 pandemic.
