Filipina tennis superstar Alex Eala has reached a career-high world ranking of No. 17 in the latest Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) standings.
This milestone follows an impressive performance at the Toray Pan Pacific Open in Tokyo, where her run to the quarterfinals earned her critical ranking points to break further into the top 20. Amassing 2,289 ranking points, Eala continues to rewrite history as the highest-ranked Southeast Asian singles player in modern WTA history.
Her rapid rise reflects a strong season of consistent deep tournament runs and marquee victories against top-tier opponents. The Philippine Tennis Association (Philta) praised her steady climb, calling her achievement a testament to her dedication and progress on the global stage.
