At New York Comic Con, Marvel Television chief Brad Winderbaum officially announced Zodiac as an upcoming live-action spy thriller series slated for a 2028 release.
Head of Marvel Television and Streaming Brad Winderbaum revealed the project during the studio’s panel, confirming that principal photography is scheduled to kick off in London in the spring of 2027, with casting expected to begin within weeks. While plot specifics are heavily under wraps, Winderbaum heavily teased that attentive comic book fans should look closely at the stylized title treatment. The logo incorporates subtle elements pointing toward classic espionage lore, heavily implying a deep dive into secretive government agencies and shadowy underworld cartels reminiscent of Marvel’s S.H.I.E.L.D. and Secret Warriors arcs.

As Marvel’s first major live-action series announcement in quite some time, Zodiac signals a welcome return to the grounded, high-stakes espionage and political intrigue that made properties like Captain America: The Winter Soldier and early MCU television favorites massive hits. With casting underway and production looming, anticipation is already building to see which operatives and villains will populate this shadowy new corner of the universe.
I personally think this will mark S.H.I.E.L.D.’s reintroduction into the MCU, especially after the lukewarm reception to Secret Invasion.
