Filipina tennis star Alex Eala made a commanding debut at the 2026 Toray Pan Pacific Open in Tokyo, dominant from start to finish as she dismissed British wildcard Mika Stojsavljevic 6-1, 6-2 in the opening round.
The eighth-seeded Eala controlled the tempo throughout the 75-minute encounter at the Ariake Tennis Park. Demonstrating pinpoint accuracy on her first serve and relentlessly attacking Stojsavljevic’s second serve, Eala generated seven break point opportunities and converted four to keep her opponent under constant pressure. Stojsavljevic, the 17-year-old 2024 US Open junior champion, struggled to counter Eala’s heavy groundstrokes and committed five double faults during the match.
