Klay Thompson will join the retooled Miami Heat that includes Giannis Antetokounmpo, Bam Adebayo, Tim Hardaway Jr., former Golden State teammate Andrew Wiggins and Bobby Portis. “On paper”, Miami Heat with their new additional can be considered as a contender in East, with the likes of NY Knicks, Philadelphia Sixers, Indiana Pacers and the Boston Celtics.
In their announcement, the Heat said, “Thompson, a 13-year NBA veteran, has appeared in 934 regular season games (822 starts) and averaged 18.6 points, 3.4 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 31.4 minutes while shooting 44.8 percent from the field, 40.9 percent from three-point range and 85.8 percent from the foul line. He made 14 three-point field goals on October 29, 2018, the most during a single game in league history, and has now totaled 2,899 career three-point field goals, the fourth-most in NBA history. Additionally, Thompson has appeared in the postseason in 11 of his 13 career seasons.
Thompson will wear number 11.”
