To pull off this block buster deals, it involves 3 teams; Dallas Mavericks, Los Angeles Lakers and the Utah Jazz.
Los Angeles Lakers get:
- Luka Dončić
- Maxi Kleber
- Markieff Morris
Dallas Mavericks get:
- Anthony Davis
- Max Christie
- 2029 1st round pick
Utah Jazz get:
- Jalen Hood-Schifino
- 2025 2nd round pick
- 2025 2nd round pick (via Clippers)
Shams Charania also added that it was the Mavs who approached the Lakers and offered Luka. @ShamsCharania, “The Mavericks approached the Lakers recently and offered Luka Doncic, sources tell ESPN. Lakers brass met and believed the 25-year-old Doncic has the ability to be the face of their franchise for the next decade while giving Anthony Davis a win-now move in Dallas.”
In the short-term, it a looks like Mavs won the trade, since they will be adding a superstar scorer and defender in Anthony Davis, the Mavs will also be able to let AD play his natural position as a Power Forward, since they already have Centers who can man the paint. But in the long-term, this positioned the Lakers in the post-Lebron era, with a young Super star in Luka and a rising young players in Austin Reaves, Dalton Knecht, Gabe Vincent and Rui Hachimura, all are in their mid 20’s.
