Nissan Launches Retro Formula E Game for FIA Formula E World Championship in Tokyo

To commemorate the arrival of FIA Formula E World Championship in Tokyo, the Nissan Formula E Team has launched its first video game, ‘NISMO Electric Racer Tokyo’. This retro-inspired arcade game, created with Japanese illustrator Kentaro Yoshida, embodies Tokyo’s electric streets and gaming culture in an 8-bit style reminiscent of 90s classics.

Players can control a stylized Nissan Formula E car through a Tokyo cityscape on PC or mobile, simulating high-speed racing at 322kph. The game is available at www.NismoElectricRacer.com and is accompanied by a 90s-inspired advert. Drivers Oliver Rowland and Norman Nato will post their high scores, inviting fans to compete on the leaderboard.

Yoshida, known for his unique pastel style, also designed a special edition livery for the Tokyo E-Prix, reimagining the team’s Sakura theme. This design will be unveiled on May 14th. Tommaso Volpe, Nissan Formula E Team principal, expressed excitement for their home race and the game’s ability to capture their track energy while celebrating Japan’s gaming heritage.
