Nintendo has officially announced the Switch 2, the company’s next generation handheld gaming system. Because of the all the leaks, an official announced is all but official.

Nintendo did not provide any details on the specs and the pricing but they did release a “first look” trailer (below) that give more or less an idea on what the Switch 2 will look like.

Here’s what Nintendo said about the new Switch 2;

Nintendo Switch 2 plays both physical and digital Nintendo Switch games. Certain Nintendo Switch games may not be supported on or fully compatible with Nintendo Switch 2. Details will be shared on the Nintendo website at a later date.

**Nintendo Switch Online members can continue using the service on Nintendo Switch 2.
Nintendo Switch Online is not supported in your region.

The company is schedule to officially launch the Switch 2 on April 2, 2025, which I expect the company to provide more details about the new gaming device.
