OnePlus Showoff New Screen to Solve Wet Touchscreen Problem

OnePlus, the Chinese smartphone maker, has unveiled a new screen technology that is designed to solve the wet touchscreen problem. The new technology, called “Rainwater Touch Control,” uses a combination of silicon and a custom algorithm to determine finger placement and work around the issues with water, which conducts electrical signals, like the human hand.

A video 55 seconds video was published on Weibo, showing the still unannounced OnePlus Ace 2 Pro device, equipped with Rainwater Touch technology, on with a side-to-side video comparison with an iPhone 14 Pro, while in an artificial rain and fog. We can assume Rainwater Touch technology should help with recently washed or sweaty hands.

Aside from the new screen technology, other details of OnePlus Ace 2 Pro that was leaked are;

  • 6.7-inch OLED curved display with a resolution of 1.5K pixels, a 120Hz refresh rate, and a 1,600 nits peak brightness
  • Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor
  • up to 24GB LPDDR5X RAM and 1TB UFS 4.0 storage technology
  • Aerospace-grade three-dimensional cooling system called the Tiangong cooling system
  • 5,000mAh battery with support for 150W fast charging

The Rainwater Touch Control technology is set to debut on the OnePlus Ace 2 Pro, which will be officially unveiled in China later this week. The Rainwater Touch Control technology will be introduced to other upcoming OnePlus releases, this includes the phones from its parent brand, Oppo.

OnePlus Nord 2 x PAC-MAN Edition announced in India

After officially announcing Netflix Games for Android, Netflix Games will now be available for iOS users as well. The new gaming service will be available to Netflix subscribers with no ads, no extra fees and no in-app purchases.

Just like with the Android version, games that are available for Netflix Games on iOS are; Stranger Things: 1984, Stranger Things 3: The Game, Shooting Hoops, Card Blast, and Teeter Up. League of Legends spinoff – Hextech Mayhem: A League of Legends Story will also be available on Netflix games. Hextech Mayhem: A League of Legends Story will be cost you $10 on Nintendo Switch and PC but free if you have a Netflix subscription.

There are of course some things that you need to keep in mind when you play Netflix Games using your Netflix account and your Netflix profile.

  • Since Netflix Games have a maturity rating, you cannot use a Netflix profile to a Netflix Games with a high maturity rating.
  • Netflix Games can be played on multiple devices on the same account and just like with your Netflix account, there will be a limit on how many device you can use the same Netflix account. If you ever hit your limit, you can sign out of devices not in use, or remove them from your download devices.

From the looks of things, Netflix will make Netflix Games free as long as you are a subscriber, which is not a bad thing and could be a good strategy to grew and keep its subscribers.

OnePlus 8T to be launch on October 14

OnePlus is schedule to launch the 8T on October 14, 2020. The OnePlus 8T is their next flagship smartphone that is rumored to feature a 6.55-inch display with full HD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate, a Snapdragon 865 processor, with a configuration of 8GB RAM + 128GB storage and 12GB RAM + 256GB storage.

The cameras is composed of a 48MP primary shooter, 16MP ultra-wide lens, 5MP macro and 2MP portrait sensors, and a 32MP sensor for the front camera. As for the battery, it is said that it will be using a much larger 4,500mAh battery with a 65W Warp Charger, and running OxygenOS 11 (based on Android 11).

Since the specs that I mentioned are just rumored, everything will be clear once the phone is officially announce on the 14th of October. You can watch the event at https://www.oneplus.com/launch.
