Melai Cantiveros Bends into Netflix Philippines’ Avatar: The Last Airbender Promotion

The live action adaption of Netflix’s Avatar: The Last Airbender is scheduled to be available tomorrow Feb 22, 2024 on Netflix, to help promote the series in the region, Netflix Philippines taps the services of Melai Cantiveros for their Appa Air video promo.

In a 3 mins video (embedded below), Melai who plays as the flight attendant of Appa Air provided a brief explainer of the coming series mixed with her comedic chops. It even featured the Philippines and a couple of its tourist spots like the Coron, Palawan for WATER, Chocolate Hills for EARTH, Mayon Volcano to represent Fire and the Bangui Wind Mills for AIR.

Avatar: The Last Airbender will consist of eight episodes and will premier on Netflix tomorrow, Feb. 22th.

Spy x Family Season 2 Coming to Netflix Ph this 7th of October

Here’s something to look forward for Pinoy Otaku this coming October, since Spy x Family Season 2 will be coming to Netflix Philippines on October 7th, the same day it will be released in Japan.

Together with the announcement, Netflix Philippines also release the anime poster, which features the all the major characters of the Anime series.

Spy X family follows the story of Loid Forger codename Twilight, a master spy who has to “build a family” to complete a mission, not realizing that the girl he adopts as his daughter is a telepath, and the woman he agrees to be in a marriage with is a skilled assassin.

TOHO Animation also release the season 2 trailer.

Netflix Philippines release their first Christmas Station ID – Kumukutikutitap ang Mga Bituin sa Brgy. Netflix

Netflix Philippines just release their very first Christmas Station ID. The music is a modified version of Joey Albert’s Kumukutikutitap and the streaming giant wrote in the video description that “Christmas came early.”

The video features “Replacing Chef Chico” stars Piolo Pascual, Alessandra de Rossi, and Sam Milby; “Can’t Buy Me Love” stars Donny Pangilinan and Belle Mariano; “Keys To The Heart” cast Zanjoe Marudo and Elijah Canlas; “Missed Connections” stars Miles Ocampo, Kelvin Miranda, and Chie Filomeno; “What If” stars Alessandra de Rossi and JM De Guzman; and “Seasons” stars Lovi Poe and Carlo Aquino, which are all available in Netflix.

Releasing of Christmas Station ID is an annual tradition of local networks particularly GMA and ABS-CBN, and it looks like Netflix Philippines is adopting that tradition after being in the Philippines for 7 years now.

One Piece anime series will soon be available in Netflix Philippines

One Pience the anime series will be available for streaming on Netflix Philippines this coming 15th of April. This was announced by the official Facebook page of Netflix Philippines.

Once piece was only available on selected region including Japan, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and the United States. It’s unclear if all One Piece episodes will be available including TV Specials, OVA and shorts will be available, since in Netflix Japan only 13 seasons are available while in Netflix US only 10 seasons or a total of 325 episodes can be streamed.

One Piece follows the story of Monkey D. Luffy and his gang of wacky pirates as they look for the legendary treasure One Piece and become the new king of the pirates.

Netflix Philippines announces new pricing for Basic and Standard Plan

Netflix Philippines just announced a new pricing for its Basic and Standard Plan in the country that will take effect this 21st of February 2023.

From ₱369 per month, the new price for the Basic Plan will now be ₱249 per month, and Standard Plan will now be ₱399 from ₱459 per month. The new price changes will apply to both new and current subscribers. The Basic and Standard Plan are basically the same plan except that the Standard Plan will offer Full HD (1080P) resolution, while the Basic Plan only have HD (720P).

The price adjustment appears to be Netflix PH answer to the increasing competition in the country, since subscription to other streaming service available in the Philippines offer a much lower monthly plan.

MoA Globe heist is a publicity stunt to promote Netflix’s Red Notice

It looks like the disappearance of the Mall of Asia Globe is just a marketing stunt to promote Netflix’s Red Notice in the country.

Netflix ran a similar marketing campaign when they released “Trese”, where billboards appeared to be vandalized.

Red Notice, an action comedy film that follows the story of three art thieves played by Dwayne “the Rock” Johnson (Agent John Hartley), Ryan Reynolds (Nolan Booth) and Gal Gadot (Sarah Black / “The Bishop”) and their pursuit in stealing the three eggs if Cleopatra.

Red Notice premiered in Netflix last Nov. 12th and is now the “biggest opening day in Netflix film history.”

Legend of Korra will be on Netflix Philippines this December 15

Nickelodeon’s Legend of Korra will be on Netflix this coming December 15th. The announcement was made by the official twitter account of Netflix Philippines.

Legend of Korra follows the story of Korra, the current avatar, who is a water-bender from Southern Water Tribe, and set 70 years after the events of “The Last Airbender”. The series will have 52 episodes long, which is divided into 4 seasons.

Final season of Attack on Titan will be on Netflix this December 11th

Here’s something for the Pinoy otaku, Attack on Titan: The Final Season will be available for streaming on Netflix this coming December 11, 2020, this was announced by the official twitter account of Netflix Philippines.

Together with the announcement on twitter, Netflix Philippines also release the official trailer of the Anime series both on twitter and on their youtube channel (embedded below).
