Microsoft has announced the next generation of its portable Copilot+ PCs: the Surface Pro 12-inch and Surface Laptop 13-inch. Unveiled at the Snapdragon Summit, both ultra-portable devices feature Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X2 Plus processor, bringing upgrades to performance, battery efficiency, and local AI processing.
Alongside the refreshed PCs, Microsoft also introduced the new Surface Mouse, featuring integrated haptic feedback.
The core update for both devices is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X2 Plus chip. Built in close collaboration with Surface engineering teams, the six-core processor is optimized for thin, fanless chassis, balancing sustained workload capabilities with low power draw.
The integrated Qualcomm Hexagon Neural Processing Unit (NPU) delivers 80 TOPS of local processing power. Compared to the prior Snapdragon X Plus generation, Microsoft claims:
- 95% faster local AI inferencing on the NPU.
- Over 60% faster graphics performance via the updated Adreno GPU.
- Up to 17% faster performance in Office productivity workloads.

Surface Pro 12-Inch
The Surface Pro 12-inch maintains its 2-in-1 form factor with a fanless design, weighing 686g (1.51 lbs) without the keyboard.

It connects via Bluetooth 6.0 and includes a customizable action button dedicated to Copilot and shortcut navigation.
