Here’s something for Naruto fans to look forward to, franchise creator Masashi Kishimoto has officially announced a brand-new manga titled Naruto: Shadow Rising. The major reveal took place during New York Comic Con 2026 as part of the broader “Project Rasengan” initiative, marking Kishimoto’s triumphant return to write the iconic storyline.

A teaser trailer showcased the return of the original Team 7 members as adults, offering glimpses of Naruto Uzumaki holding the Seventh Hokage hat, Kakashi Hatake smiling, Sasuke Uchiha, and Sakura cradling a baby—believed by fans to be Sarada. The trailer concluded with an intense clash between Naruto and Sasuke, leaving fans eager to learn how their legendary rivalry unfolds in this new chapter.

Naruto: Shadow Rising aims to explore the long-awaited “blank period”—the unexplored years following the conclusion of the original series before the events of Boruto. Further details regarding its serialization schedule and release date will be unveiled at Jump Festa 2027 during the Naruto Super Stage event on December 19–20, 2026.
