WNBA Free Agency: Lexie Hull stays with the Indiana Fever

Indiana Guard Lexie Hull will stay with the Indiana Fever, the team announced. The resigning of Hull to the Fever was “prematurely announced” after a video of Caitlin Clark and Lexie Hull was posted on Hull’s social media account.

Hull returns to the Fever following a 2025 season which saw the guard set new career highs in points per game (7.2), rebounds per game (4.3), assists per game (1.8) and steals per game (1.2). Additionally, Hull recorded her first career double-double in June against Seattle with 15 points and 11 rebounds, followed by her first career postseason double-double against Las Vegas in September with 16 points and 10 rebounds. Along the way, Hull helped the Fever lift the 2025 Commissioner’s Cup and secure a berth to the 2025 WNBA Semifinals for the first time in a decade.

Through five seasons with the Fever, Hull has appeared in 134 out of a possible 160 regular season games, totaling 741 points, 165 assists and 396 rebounds. Hull is currently just 25 offensive rebounds away and 19 three-pointers away from becoming 10th all-time in franchise history in both categories.

Before being drafted No. 6 overall by the Fever in the 2022 WNBA Draft, Hull spent four years at Stanford University where she made two NCAA Final Four appearances, winning the NCAA Championship in 2021.

In a stunning display of resilience, the Indiana Fever secured a historic 99-93 overtime victory against the Connecticut Sun. Trailing by a franchise-record 21 points early in the third quarter, the Fever mounted an improbable comeback.

Fever’s rally was led by a red-hot Kelsey Mitchell, who scored 34 of her career-high 38 points in the second half and overtime. Mitchell’s clutch shooting, including back-to-back three-pointers to start the extra period, fueled the comeback. Aliyah Boston also played a pivotal role, notching her 15th double-double of the season with 14 points and 13 rebounds, a new franchise record. Lexie Hull, despite missing her first three shot, hit a corner 3-pointer with 44.9 seconds in OT to give the Indiana Fever a 7 point lead and eventually beat the Connecticut Sun 99-93.

Despite the heroics, the win was bittersweet as the Fever’s Sophie Cunningham left the game in the second quarter due to a knee injury and did not return.

The win gives the Fever enough cushion as they face the Lynx in the next two games starting this Friday, while the Sun plays at Washington on Tuesday.

Fever are now down with 4 players; Caitlin Clark (groin injury), Sydney Colson (ACL tear in her left knee), Aari McDonald (right foot broken bone) and now Sophie Cunningham.

Short-handed Indiana Fever gives Chicago Sky a 22-point beating (92 – 70)

Even though the Fever were without their three point guards, they handed the Sky a 22-point beating (92–70).

Four of the Indiana Fever’s starters scored in double digits: Aliyah Boston with 15 points, Kelsey Mitchell with 26 points (4-of-8 from the three-point line) and 8 assists, Sophie Cunningham with 16 points (3-of-6 from the three-point line), and Lexie Hull with 17 points (4-of-6 from the three-point line). Natasha Howard also contributed 7 points, 10 rebounds, and 2 blocks. The bench also made an impact, especially on the defensive end, with three steals and two blocks. Makayla Timpson added 7 points off the bench.

Sydney Colson and Aari McDonald are both out with season-ending injuries from their last game against Phoenix. Colson suffered a torn left ACL, while McDonald had a broken bone in her right foot. Caitlin Clark is also still out with a groin injury.

Sky are also missing some key players mainly Angel Reese with a back injury and Courtney Vandersloot with a torn right ACL injury.

The Indiana Fever will play their next two games at home, starting with the Dallas Wings this Wednesday. The Sky will visit Connecticut on Thursday.

Caitlin Clark will not participate in this year’s WNBA All-Star events due to injury

Indiana Fever fans will miss Caitlin Clark this WNBA All-Star weekend since she will not be participating in the event. Clark made the announcement via the team’s communication and social media channels.

Caitlin Clark’s teammate, Lexie Hull was named as her replacement in the 3-point contest, as for the All-Star game, from WNBA, “Washington Mystics guard Brittney Sykes and Atlanta Dream forward Brionna Jones have been named by WNBA Commissioner Cathy Engelbert to replace the injured Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark and Phoenix Mercury forward Satou Sabally on Team Clark in the 2025 AT&T WNBA All-Star Game.”

Indiana Fever hand New York Liberty their first loss in the season (102 – 88)

It was Caitlin Clark’s first game since being sidelined due to a left quadriceps strain injury, and it was the return that a lot of CC fans had been expecting. Caitlin Clark was flirting with a triple-double; with 32 points, 8 rebounds, and 9 assists, she accounted for 54 of Indiana’s points through her scoring and assists.

In a two-minute stretch in the first quarter, she scored a total of 12 points: an and-1, followed by three straight triples—a 33-footer, a 27-footer 21 seconds later, and then a 31-footer 22 seconds after that. This brought the Gainbridge Fieldhouse sellout crowd (17,274) to a frenzy.

Clark got a lot of help from fellow superstar Kelsey Mitchell, who added 22 points. Lexie Hull contributed 14 points, and Aliyah Boston had a double-double with 10 points, 11 rebounds, and 6 assists. Sydney Colson was big off the bench with 10 points and 6 assists.

The win is payback for their 90-88 loss to the Liberty on May 24th, the last game Caitlin Clark played before sitting out the next five games. The New York Liberty are now 9-1 for the season.

On the Liberty side, Sabrina Ionescu led the team with a season-high 34 points and 4 assists. Breanna Stewart added 24 points and 5 rebounds. New York is missing the services of Jonquel Jones, who is out with an ankle injury, and Leonie Fiebich due to her overseas commitment for Germany in the EuroBasket competition.

Indiana Fever official introduce Stephanie White as the Team’s Head Coach

It’s official, Indiana Fever has introduce Stephanie White as the Fever’s Head Coach. Joining her in the introductory press conference, is newly minted Chief Operating Officer and General Manager Amber Cox, Kelly Krauskopf, the Fever’s President of Basketball and Business Operations, with Fever Superstars Caitlin Clark, Aliyah Boston and Lexie Hull.

An Indiana native, Stephanie White earn the moniker Indiana Miss Basketball at Seeger High School in West Lebanon, then in college while in Purdue, led the Boilermakers to the 1999 NCAA National Championship.

Stephanie White spent five seasons in the WNBA, the majority with the Fever, joining the team for their inaugural season in 2000. Her contributions to the franchise are significant, as she ranks among the top 20 in games played, assists, steals, and three-point field goals made.

Stephanie White is a seasoned WNBA coach, spending 17 seasons of experience as a player and coach in the league. She previously led the Indiana Fever, guiding them to the 2015 WNBA Finals and the 2016 playoffs. Her coaching journey also includes assistant roles with the Fever, Chicago Sky, and various collegiate teams, highlighting her diverse experience and strategic acumen.
