Lakers takes 2 – 0 over Rockets lead by James, Smart and Kennard (101 – 94)

Another dominant performance from LeBron James, as the Lakers secured a 101–94 victory over the Rockets in Game 2, extending their series lead to 2-0. Once again James flirted with a triple-double, racking up 28 points, 8rebounds, and 7 assists. Marcus Smart and Luke Kennard added 25 points and 23 points, respectively. Smart and Kennard also made a 8 of the 13 three-pointers of Lakers.

In the second quarter, Houston attempted a comeback fueled by Alperen Şengün and Jabari Smith Jr., but their efforts were undermined by self-inflicted wounds. Kevin Durant struggled with a game-high nine turnovers, and their half-court execution was generally sloppy, preventing the Rockets from closing the gap in the final minutes.

The Lakers are still without Luka Doncic (strained hamstring) and Austin Reaves (strained oblique); this latest win will allow them to get more rest. The series now shifts to Houston for Game 3 this Friday, where the Rockets will face a must-win scenario to avoid a 0-3 deficit.

Game Highlights;

Kennard scores 27, LeBron leads Lakers to surprising 107-98 win over Rockets in playoff opener

ESPN;

LOS ANGELES — — Luke Kennard scored a career playoff-high 27 points, LeBron James had 19 points and 13 assists, and the short-handed Los Angeles Lakers capitalized on Kevin Durant’s injury absence for a 107-98 victory over the Houston Rockets in the opener of their first-round playoff series on Saturday night.

Deandre Ayton had 19 points and 11 rebounds for the fourth-seeded Lakers, who pulled off an impressive win without their top two scorers.

The absence of Luka Dončić and Austin Reaves, have little to no affect at all with the Lakers, while the Rockets really needed KD in this game. Plus, Lebron James was vintage and was 2 rebounds aways for a triple-double.

Game 2 of the Lakers-Rockets series will be Tuesday night at Crypto.com Arena.

Lakers win their 8th straight against Knicks in OT (113 – 109)

Knicks lead almost the entire games but the Lakers made a run that forces the Knicks to dig deep to force an OT.

NY was lead by Jalen Brunson scoring 39 points and 10 assists, OG Anunoby added 20 points, while Josh Hart had 18 points and 10 rebounds.

But in the end Luka Doncic and Lebron James was too much for the NY, both Luka and Lebron combined for 63 points, 19 rebounds and 20 assists.

Here’s the 10 mins video from NBA on the last 6 mins of regulation and the entire OT.

Literally hours before the 2023 NBA All Star Game, Team Caption Lebron James and Giannis Antetokounmpo drafted their players from the pool of players, first it was for the reserves then the starters.

Giannis Antetokounmpo got the privileges to choose the #1 draft and decided to take Damian Lillard of the Portland Trail Blazers, then his teammate Jrue Holiday. Lebron James, of the LA Lakers and the leading vote-getter, will be one of the team captain and Giannis Antetokounmpo of the Milwaukee Bucks and Eastern Conference voting leader, will be the team captain of the opposing team. This will be Lebron’s 19th All Star appearance and the 7th for Giannis.

Eastern Conference starters

  • Giannis Antetokounmpo (Milwaukee Bucks/ Captain)
  • Kevin Durant (Brooklyn Nets)
  • Jayson Tatum (Boston Celtics)
  • Donovan Mitchell (Cleveland Cavaliers)
  • Kyrie Irving (Brooklyn Nets)

Western Conference starters

  • LeBron James (Los Angeles Lakers/ Captain)
  • Nikola Jokic (Denver Nuggets)
  • Zion Williamson (New Orleans Pelicans)
  • Stephen Curry (Golden State Warriors)
  • Luka Doncic (Dallas Mavericks)

Giannis and James will both choose the players for their respective team on the night of the game, a twist that the NBA announced last Wednesday and it is similar on how you play basketball in parks and pickup games.

The Starters — three frontcourt players and two guards from each conference — are chosen based on a combination of three different votes: fan balloting counted for 50%, media balloting was worth 25% and voting by the NBA’s players made up the final 25%.

Team Lebron bags the 2018 NBA All Star Game

Spin.ph;

TEAM LeBron rallied from double-digits down in the fourth to beat Team Stephen 148-145 on Sunday in the NBA All Star Game in Los Angeles (Monday, Manila time).

LeBron James got huge support from Kevin Durant, Paul George, Andre Drummond and Bradley Beal, taking victory in the new-look midseason show as the NBA used a playground-style selection process over the traditional East-West format.

The game between Team LBJ and Team Steph Curry was basically offensive play after offensive play and the team who decided to play defense won the game which what Team Lebron did in the last 2 mins of the game.

Lebron James was named All Star MVP.
