Caitlin Clark named AP Player of the Week for the 5th Time

Caitlin Clark was named the Associated Press (AP) National Player of the Week 4 times during her college career at Iowa, and then the most recent in her very young WNBA career, July 13–19, 2026.

Here are the AP News articles for each of those weekly honors:

  1. November 14, 2023 (Week 1): Honored after averaging 32 points, 9 assists, and 8.3 rebounds, which included a 44-point game against Virginia Tech and breaking Iowa’s all-time scoring record.
  2. January 9, 2024 (Week 9): Earned the recognition after averaging 34.5 points, 7.5 assists, and 5.5 rebounds, highlighted by a buzzer-beating deep 3-pointer to beat Michigan State and a triple-double against Rutgers.
  3. February 20, 2024 (Week 15): Awarded during her historic senior season run as she broke the NCAA Division I women’s all-time scoring record.
  4. March 12, 2024 (Week 18): Selected after averaging 28.6 points and 11.3 assists to lead Iowa to its third consecutive Big Ten Tournament title.
  5. July 13–19, 2026: She won the honor after averaging 25 points, 7.7 assists, and 1.7 steals per game to help the Indiana Fever go 2–1, highlighted by a historic franchise-record 45-point, 10-assist performance against the Seattle Storm.

Indiana Fever dominates Brazil National Team (108 – 44)

The Indiana Fever move to 2-0 in preseason play with a 108-44 win over the Brazil National Team!

Kelsey Mitchell dropped 17 PTS, 3 STL and Caitlin Clark notched 16 PTS, 6 REB, 5 AST.

I mean, there’s no way the Brazil National Team will win this game, it was a matter of how many points Indiana Fever will score and how many 3-points and assists will Caitlin Clark will make. This is just the preseason but the atmosphere in the Carver-Hawkeye Arena was electric.

Indiana Fever will play one more preseason game against the Atlanta Dream this Saturday evening at the Gateway Center. WNBA regular season will start this May 16th and the Fever’s first game will be against the Chicago Sky at Gainbridge Fieldhouse on the 17th of May.

Iowa Hawkeyes to retire Caitlin Clark’s No. 22 jersey on Feb 2, 2025

University of Iowa Athletics Department has announced that they will retire the iconic No. 22 of Hawkeye women’s basketball legend, Caitlin Clark on Feb. 2, 2025, at the Carver-Hawkeye Arena.

“I’m forever proud to be a Hawkeye and Iowa holds a special place in my heart that is bigger than just basketball,” Clark said. “It means the world to me to receive this honor and to celebrate it with my family, friends and alumni. It will be a great feeling to look up in the rafters and see my jersey alongside those that I’ve admired for so long.”

Clark will be in attendance and the Hawkeyes will face Juju Watkins and the USC Women’s basketball team. The game is will air on FOX and the Hawkeye Radio Network.
