After releasing its first episode, HBO announced that it has renewed the House of the Dragon for a second season. According to reports, the first episode “The Heirs of the Dragon” drew a combined nearly 10 million viewers on television and HBO Max.
The GoT prequel is based on George R.R. Martin’s Fire & Blood, which is set 200 years before the events of Game of Thrones and focuses on rise and fall of House of Targaryen. Season 1 of House of the Dragon premiered last August 21, 2022, and will have 10 episodes.
HBO just release the much awaited Game of Thrones spin-off House of the Dragon. The series is based on George R. R. Martin’s 2018 novel ‘Fire and Blood’ and set 2 centuries before the event of Games of Thrones.
House of the Dragon focuses on the fall of House Targaryen and the events leading up to the Targaryen civil war, known as the “Dance of the Dragons.”
The teaser did not provide much details on the series except that it’ll have a stellar cast;

It’s unclear if House of the Dragon will have the same success as the Games of Thrones, and if having a familiar surname “Targaryen” is enough to sway Games of Thrones fans back to world of the Seven Kingdoms.
The House of Dragon will have ten episodes and will premiere in HBO Max in 2022. HBO did not provide any specifics regarding the release date.
