After almost a week, Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, Joey de Leon (TVJ) and the former hosts of Eat Bulaga signed a new agreement with MediaQuest Group to move to TV5.
This is what MediaQuest CEO Jane Basas said in their official press statement;
I’m honored that these pillars of the Philippine entertainment industry have agreed to work with us. Our partnership strengthens our ability to continue to deliver the best for Filipino viewers here at home and all over the world. I’m happy that Tito, Vic, and Joey will now call TV5 their home.
Dabarkads – Maine Mendoza, Pauleen Luna and Ryan Agoncillo confirmed the new deal by posting on their personal social media account a 20 seconds clip showing the letter “J” of TVJ transforming to the number “5”.
The deal may already be in the works, since Joey Deleon previous said that “We’re not signing off … we are just taking a day off!” at that time the trio announced that they are leaving TAPE and the rest of the staff, crew and hosts also sent their resignation to TAPE the next day.
The new show is scheduled to air on TV5 in July and it’s unclear what will be the title of new show, since rights to the name “EAT BULAGA” is still being being disputed by TVJ and TAPE. Considering the the large following of Tito, Vic and Joey, including the Dabarkads (Eat Bulaga’s mainstays); Paolo Ballesteros, Jose Manalo, Wally Bayola, Maine Mendoza, Pauleen Luna and Ryan Agoncillo, they can just name of the show anything they want and people will still watch them in droves.
