Full list of Metro Manila Film Festival 2024 Winners

The 50th edition of the annual Metro Manila Film Festival just concluded its “Awards Night” (Gabi ng Parangal) at the Solaire Resort & Casino in Parañaque, on December 27, 2024. For those who missed the live telecast, below are the full list of Metro Manila Film Festival 2024 winners.

“Green Bones” emerged as the biggest winner, claiming 6 awards, including Best Picture, Best Actor, Best Supporting Actor, Best Screenplay, Best Cinematography, and Best Child Performer.

“Isang Himala” and “The Kingdom” tied for second place in terms of the number of awards. However, “The Kingdom” garnered the more prestigious awards, namely Best Picture (2nd place), Best Director, Best Production Design, Best Visual Effects, and the Gatpuno Antonio J. Villegas Cultural Award.

In contrast, “Isang Himala” won Best Picture (4th place), Special Jury Prize, Best Supporting Actress, Best Original Theme Song, and Best Musical Score.

I was able to watch the “Awards Night” and it was great but being abroad, you can only hope that cinemas and theater house will feature these films, since no matter how much you want to watch them, if its not available, one can only hope that it will be available online and soon!

Here are the winners of MMFF 2023 Gabi ng Parangal

It’s that time of the year again, where we recognize the best and brightest actors, filmmakers, and films in the country at the 2023 Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) Gabi ng Parangal. The event was held last Wednesday, December 27th, at the New Frontier Theater in Quezon City.

From the usual 8 film, this year a total of 10 films for the went head to head for the 2023 Metro Manila Film Festival awards night and they are not your “usual suspect.”

Firefly took home the Best Picture and Best Screenplay. Euwenn Mikaell won the Best Child Performer award under Firefly, as well. But Pepe Diokno’s GomBurZa won the most number of awards, taking home a whopping 7 awards; Best Sound, Best Production Design, Best Cinematography, Gatpuno Antonio Villegas Cultural Award, Best Director, Best Actor and 2nd Best Picture.

These are the winners of MMFF 2022 Gabi ng Parangal

Now that all the numbers are in, it was time to give the bag to the winners for this years Metro Manila Film Festival. The movie Deleter dominated the MMFF 2022 Gabi ng Parangal bagging 7 awards including the Best Picture, Best Actress (Nadine Lustre), Best Director (Mikhail Red) and much more.

Even though Deleter received the most awards, Nanahimik ang Gabi is the film that have the most nominations at 13, while Deleter and Mamasapano both received 11 nominations. Movies that won multiple awards are Deleter (7 awards won); Nanahimik ang Gabi (winning 5 awards); Mamasapano: Now It Can Be Told (bagging 4 awards) and My Father, Myself (taking home 3 awards).
