Netflix just announced that their live action adaptation of the popular manga and anime series “YuYu Hakusho” will premiere on the streaming platform on the 14th of December.
More than three decades after Yu Yu Hakusho by Yoshihiro Togashi first captured the imagination of readers, the beloved manga gets a live-action adaptation.

The series will star Takumi Kitamura as Yusuke Urameshi (Eugene), Jun Shison as Kurama (Dennis), Kanata Hongo as Hiei (Vincent), and Shuhei Uesugi as Kazuma Kuwabara (Alfred).The series follows the story of Yusuke Urameshi, a teenage delinquent who is killed by a car while saving a child’s life. He is given a second chance at life by the Spirit World, and is tasked with working as a Spirit Detective to investigate cases involving demons.

Just like Netflix’s live action One Piece, YuYu Hakusho will like focus on the origin story of Urameshi on he became Spirit Detective and how he became “friends” with Kurama, Hiei, Kuwabara and Botan, as well as Koenma and Genkai.
