Marvel announces ‘Secret Invasion’ original series and official trailer

Here’s another series – Secret Invasion, that I’m excited about, since this will feature 6 hours of Nick Fury.

Premise of the series going something like this; A faction of shapeshifting aliens, the Skrulls, have infiltrated all aspects of life on Earth. The series is taken from Marvel’s eight-issue limited series with the same name and several tie-in books.

Secret Invasion original series will be 6-episodes long and will star Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury from the MCU film series, along with Ben Mendelsohn as Talos, with Cobie Smulders, Martin Freeman, and Don Cheadle. The series is created by Kyle Bradstreet and directed by Thomas Bezucha and Ali Selim.

Secret Invasion original series is part of Phase Five of the MCU and will premiere on Disney+ in early 2023.

Disney just released the official teaser trailer of their upcoming live action adaption of The Little Mermaid. The 83 seconds video features Ariel (Halle Bailey) in what appears to be the “Part Of That World” scene of the animated series.

The live action adaption of the Little Mermaid is scheduled to be released next May 26th, 2023.

The film stars singer and actress Halle Bailey (“grown-ish”) as Ariel; Tony Award® winner Daveed Diggs (“Hamilton,” “Snowpiercer”) as the voice of Sebastian; Jacob Tremblay (“Luca,” “Room”) as the voice of Flounder; Awkwafina (“Raya and the Last Dragon”) as the voice of Scuttle; Jonah Hauer-King (“A Dog’s Way Home”) as Prince Eric; Art Malik (“Homeland”) as Sir Grimsby; Noma Dumezweni (“Mary Poppins Returns”) as Queen Selina; with Oscar® winner Javier Bardem (“No Country for Old Men,” “Being the Ricardos”) as King Triton; and two-time Academy Award® nominee Melissa McCarthy (“Can You Ever Forgive Me?” “Bridesmaids”) as Ursula.

“The Little Mermaid” is directed by Oscar® nominee Rob Marshall (“Chicago,” “Mary Poppins Returns”), and written by two-time Oscar nominee David Magee (“Life of Pi,” “Finding Neverland”), with a live-action story adaptation by David Magee, Rob Marshall, and two-time Emmy winner John DeLuca (“Tony Bennett: An American Classic”)

Pixar drops Lightyear teaser trailer and movie poster

Pixar and Disney just drop the teaser trailer of Lightyear, a film about the origin story of Buzz Lightyear — the hero who inspired the toy and not the the Buzz Lightyear toy (voiced by Tim Allen), that Toy story have come to known and love.

The trailer starts with Buzz Lightyear as one a member of the Space Ranger, being launch into space and around the surface of the sun. Then later we can see Buzz with an android cat and his fellow Space Ranger fighting space aliens, we also see a glimpse of the ‘iconic’ green spacesuit in its entirety. The trailer ends with the now famous catchphrase, “To infinity and…”

The sci-fi action-adventure presents the definitive origin story of Buzz Lightyear—the hero who inspired the toy—introducing the legendary Space Ranger who would win generations of fans.

Together with the trailer, Pixar also released the film’s poster that features that iconic spacesuit complete with its green color theme.

Lightyear was first announced during the December 2020 Disney Investor Day presentation. Chris Evan will be the voiced behind Buzz Lightyear, Tim Allen was the voice of Buzz the toy in Toy Story films. The film is directed by Angus MacLane and Galyn Susman as its producer.

Lightyear is expected to be exclusive to theaters in the summer of 2022 and then later on Disney plus.

Marvel release official poster of Hawkeye Original Series, a head of November 24 debut

Marvel studio just release the official Hawkeye series poster that will start streaming on Disney+ on November 24th. Disney will release the first 2 episode of the series, similar to what they did when they release the first two-episode of WandaVision last January 15, 2021.

The series is set right after the events Avengers: Endgame, Hawkeye original series will revolve around the introduction of Kate Bishop as the new Hawkeye, and her place in the the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Hawkeye will be a six-episode series and will star Jeremy Renner as Clint Barton / Hawkeye, Hailee Steinfeld as Kate Bishop / Hawkeye, Vera Farmiga as Eleanor Bishop, Alaqua Cox as Maya Lopez/Echo and Florence Pugh reprise her role as Yelena Belova from the MCU Black Widow film.

Hawkeye original series will start streaming on Disney+ on November 24th.

Marvel release another trailer for Eternals, ahead of Nov. 5th release

Marvel just released a new Eternals trailer (below). The 3-seconds video are a combination of an already released clips and new clips, where we can see our heroes in their ‘ordinary’ house and the family they they’ve built in the modern time.

Marvel’s Eternals will star Gemma Chan as Sersi, Richard Madden as Ikaris, Kumail Nanjiani as Kingo, Lauren Ridloff as Makkari, Brian Tyree Henry as Phastos, Salma Hayek as Ajak, Lia McHugh as Sprite, Don Lee as Gilgamesh, Angelina Jolie as Thena, Barry Keoghan as Druig and Kit Harington as Dane Whitman/Black Knight.

It is directed by Chloé Zhao, and Kevin Feige and Nate Moore as the producers. The film will in theaters on November 5, 2021.

Disney drops Hawkeye series poster and trailer, will stream on November 24th

Disney just drop the ‘Hawkeye’ series poster and trailer, the next original series that will be available on Disney+ this November 24th.

The trailer (embedded above) gives us a good idea on what the series will be all about and of course, the introduction of the new Hawkeye, Kate Bishop to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). The series is set right after the event Avengers: Endgame, and will focus on the development of Kate Bishop, from a goofy-wannabe-vigilante to someone who can carry the role of ‘Hawkeye.’

Marvel drops movie poster and the final trailer for Eternals

Marvel Studios a.k.a. Disney, just dropped a big one for the MCU fans, the studio just release the movie poster and the final trailer of the Eternals film.

The trailer (above) basically showed us the plot of the movie without revealing too much of the film. We see who their up against and glimpse of their powers.

In the trailer, the wise and spiritual Ajak (played by Salma Hayek) explains the situation at hand to Ikaris (played by Richard Madden), “Five years ago, Thanos erased half of the population of the universe. But the people of this planet brought everyone back with a snap of a finger.”

However, the events has caused an unexpected conflict for them, “The sudden return of the population provided the necessary energy for the emergence to begin.” Unfortunately, they only have seven days.

In addition to the final trailer, Marvel release the movie posters, which gives us a good look on how our heroes looks in their respective “Eternals” costume.

Eternals is the third film in the MCU Phase Four arrives and introduces a number of new heroes. The film will in theaters on November 5, 2021.

Watch the New Trailer of Black Widow

Disney just release a new trailer of the movie Black Widow. The film have been delay due to the coronavirus pandemic. The film will be available in theaters this July 9, 2021 and on Disney+ with Premier Access on the same day.

Set before Avengers’ Infinity War; Black Widow features Natasha Romanoff’s bloody history and her life as a deadly assassin.

Black Widow stars Scarlett Johansson reprising her role as Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow, Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova, David Harbour as the Red Guardian/Alexei Shostakov, O-T Fagbenle as Mason and Rachel Weisz as Melina Vostokoff.

Here’s the premise of the movie;

Long ago, in the fantasy world of Kumandra, humans and dragons lived together in harmony. But when an evil force threatened the land, the dragons sacrificed themselves to save humanity. Now, 500 years later, that same evil has returned and it is up to a lone warrior, Raya, to track down the legendary last dragon to restore the fractured land and its divided people. However, along her journey, she’ll learn that it’ll take more than a dragon to save the world—it’s going to take trust and teamwork as well.

Raya and the Last Dragon is directed by Don Hall and Carlos López Estrada, co-directors Paul Briggs and John Ripa, producers Osnat Shurer and Peter Del Vecho, and featuring the voices of Kelly Marie Tran (Star Wars: The Last Jedi) as the titular Raya and Awkwafina (Crazy Rich Asians) as the last dragon Sisu. Raya and the Last Dragon in theaters March 12, 2021.

Soul is co-directed Pete Docter (“Inside Out,” “Up”) and Kemp Powers (“One Night in Miami”), and produced by Dana Murray. The film features the voices of Jamie Foxx, Tina Fey, Phylicia Rashad, Angela Bassett, Ahmir Questlove Thompson and Daveed Diggs. Soul will be in theaters 19th of June.

Disney’s live action adaptation of Mulan is directed by Niki Caro, and stars Yifei Liu (Mulan), Donnie Yen (Commander Tung(, Jason Scott Lee (Böri Khan), and Yoson An (Cheng Honghui), with Gong Li as Xianniang and Jet Li as the Emperor. The film hits theaters March 27.

Marvel Studios releases Official Trailer of Ant-Man and The Wasp

This trailer is more of an introduction of Ghost, the villain in the film and Ant-Man’s budding relationship with the Wasp. The movie happened right after Capt. American; Civil War and sometime before Avengers: Infinity War, so no spoilers, but may be a couple of Easter egg for eagle eye movie goers.

Marvel Studios’ Ant-Man and The Wasp is In theaters July 6.

Disney acquires 21st Century Fox for $52.4 Billion in stock

Disney just acquired 21st Century Fox for $52.4 billion in stocks, the reported actual value the deal is approximately $66.1 billion. Once the transaction is close, shareholders of 21st Century Fox will receive 0.2745 Disney shares for each 21st Century Fox share they hold, this will give the Murdoch family trading control of 21st Century Fox for a 4.25% stake in Disney.

The deal is expected to complete in 12 to 18 months, once closed, Disney will acquire entertainment properties like the Twentieth Century Fox, Fox Searchlight Pictures, Fox 2000, it also include movies like Avatar, X-Men, Fantastic Four and Deadpool, as well as The Grand Budapest Hotel, Hidden Figures, Gone Girl, The Shape of Water and The Martian, and its television creative units, Twentieth Century Fox Television, FX Productions and Fox21, which is the home of popular tv series The Americans, This Is Us, Modern Family, The Simpsons. Disney will also acquire FX Networks, National Geographic Partners, Fox Sports Regional Networks, Fox Networks Group International, Star India and Fox’s interests in Hulu, Sky plc, Tata Sky and Endemol Shine Group.

Not included in the deal are Fox Broadcasting network and stations, Fox News Channel, Fox Business Network, FS1, FS2 and Big Ten Network, these will spun off into a new company called “New Fox”. Disney will also inherit an approximately $13.7 billion of net debt of 21st Century Fox.

Once completed, the deal will bring X-men, Fantastic Four and Deadpool back into the fold of Marvel, also owned by Disney, and possibilities of Avengers, X-men, Fantastic Four and even Deadpool doing a movie together is very high.
