James Gunn unveiled the first look of Krypto the Superdog

James Gunn just confirmed that Krypto the Superdog will debut in the upcoming Superman film in the Summer of 2025. James Gunn even explained where he got the inspiration for Krypto from their dog Ozu.

Krypto was inspired by our dog Ozu, who we adopted shortly after I started writing Superman. Ozu, who came from a hoarding situation in a backyard with 60 other dogs & never knew human beings, was problematic to say the least.

The film is written and directed by James Gunn. It will star David Corenswet as Clark Kent / Superman, Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl, Edi Gathegi as Michael Holt / Mister Terrific, Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner / Green Lantern and Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor plus a reported appearance by Milly Alcock as Supergirl.

Superman is scheduled to be released theatrically in the United States on July 11, 2025. It is set to be the first film of the DCU’s Chapter One: Gods and Monsters.

Warner Bros. Entertainment just release the official trailer of Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths – Part Two. This is the second part of a trilogy that will be concluded by the end of the year.

The trailer hinted that the film immediately pickup from where we left our heroes in Part One, where members of ‘Legion of Superheroes’ start to disappear. We also see Justice League members from different multi-verse battle shadow demons.

An endless army of SHADOW DEMONS bent on the destruction of all reality swarms over our world and all parallel Earths! The only thing opposing them is the mightiest team of metahumans ever assembled. But not even the combined power of Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern and all their fellow superheroes can slow down the onslaught of this invincible horde. What mysterious force is driving them? And how do the long-buried secrets of the Monitor and Supergirl threaten to crush our last defense?

Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths – Part Two is schedule for an April 23rd release.

The Crisis on Infinite Earths trilogy will follow the 1985-1986 comic book series by Marv Wolfman and George Pérez. The series’ premise is that worlds from different universes are being destroyed and DC’s heroes from different multiverse brought together by the Monitor in order to stop the impending “crisis.”

This is not the first time the Crisis on Infinite Earths storyline have been adopted on TV or cinema, in 2019-2020 (CW) Arrowverse crossover also adapted the Crisis on Infinite Earths storyline and former DC Films President Walter Hamada have the Crisis on Infinite Earths storyline for the DCEU in the pipeline but was later scrapped after Discovery acquires Warner Bros. and new plans for DC on the big screen was created lead by James Gunn.

Warner Bros. did not provide any information on the official release date of the trilogy.

DC release the first trailer of The Flash

DC/Warner Bros. just release the first trailer “The Flash,” this will be the DC Super Hero’s first-ever standalone feature film.

Ezra Miller reprises his role as Barry Allen and in the film, he inadvertently broke the timeline by using his superpowers to travel back in time in order to change the events of the past, specifically “to save his family.” In the trailer, we also see two different Batmans; Ben affleck and Michael Keaton. Also returning in the film is Michael Shannon as General Zod and Antje Traue as Faora-Ul. The trailer also gave us a quick look at Sasha Calle’s Supergirl (Kara Zor-El).

The Flash is directed by Andy Muschietti with screenplay by Christina Hodson. The Flash will be in theaters in North America on June 16, 2023 and internationally beginning 14 June 2023.

Henry Cavill will not be returning as Superman, after all!

After announcing that he (Henry Cavill) will return as Superman last October, Cavill again announced that he will be returning as Superman.

Here’s what he said in an Instagram post;

In a tweet, James Gunn explained why they’re changing Henry Cavill as Superman, saying that the new Superman that they have in mind “will be focusing on an earlier part of Superman’s life, so the character will not be played by Henry Cavill.” He added that they’re a big fan of Henry Cavill and that they’re exploring “a number of exciting possibilities to work together in the future.’

Since becoming co-chairpersons and CEOs of DC Films, all eyes are on James Gunn and how he can build a connected DC universe that can rival the MCU. It looks like James Gunn wants to start fresh in his vision of a connected DC universe.

New Superman will comeout as bisexual in issue #5 of Superman: Son of Kal-El

New Superman revealed to be a bisexual in upcoming issue #5 of Superman: Son of Kal-El, which will be release on November 9th. Jon Kent, who is the new Superman and, the son of Clark Kent and Lois Lane, will comeout as Bi and becomes romantically involed with his with fellow reporter Jay Nakamura.

Here’s what DC published on their website regarding the development;

On November 9th the life of Jon Kent, the Superman of Earth and son of Clark Kent and Lois Lane, takes a bold new direction.

“I’ve always said everyone needs heroes and everyone deserves to see themselves in their heroes and I’m very grateful DC and Warner Bros. share this idea,” said writer Tom Taylor. “Superman’s symbol has always stood for hope, for truth and for justice. Today, that symbol represents something more. Today, more people can see themselves in the most powerful superhero in comics.”

Just like his father before him, Jon Kent has fallen for a reporter. After initially striking up a friendship with reporter Jay Nakamura, he and Jon become romantically involved in the pages of SUPERMAN: SON OF KAL-EL #5 from writer Tom Taylor (DARK KNIGHTS OF STEEL) and artist John Timms (HARLEY QUINN). Following a scene where Superman mentally and physically burns out from trying to save everyone that he can, Jay is there to care for the Man of Steel.

“I’m incredibly honored to be working beside Tom on the SUPERMAN: SON OF KAL-EL series showing Jon Kent tackling his complex modern life, while also saving the world from its greatest threats, villains and menaces,” said artist John Timms.

“We couldn’t be prouder to tell this important story from Tom Taylor and John Timms,” said DC Chief Creative Officer and Publisher Jim Lee. “We talk a lot about the power of the DC Multiverse in our storytelling and this is another incredible example. We can have Jon Kent exploring his identity in the comics as well as Jon Kent learning the secrets of his family on TV on Superman & Lois. They coexist in their own worlds and times, and our fans get to enjoy both simultaneously.”

Superman: Son of Kal-El comes issue #5 is written by Tom Taylor with John Timms and Gabe Eltaeb for the arts and colors, it will comeout on November 9th.

Jason Momoa reveals the new Aquaman 2 costume

Jason Momoa, the star of DC’s Aquaman film, has posted image of the new costume of Aquaman. The Aquaman star also added the caption “Second round. New suit. More action. #aquaman Aloha j”

In an article by CBR, the new black Aquaman suit was inspired by a Classic ’80s comic.

Aquaman 2 or offically called “Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom” is directed by James Wan and returning from the first film are Jason Momoa as Arthur Curry/Aquaman, Amber Heard as Mera, Patrick Wilson as Orm Marius/Ocean Master and Temuera Morrison as Thomas Curry.

Then there’s Dolph Lundgren will portray King Nereus as Mera and the king of Xebel, and portraying the villain of the film will be Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as David Kane/Black Manta.

Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom is scheduled to be in cinemas on Dec. 16th, 2022.
