Klay Thompson drops 35-points coming off the bench to lead the win against the Utah Jazz (140-137)

After a disappointing performance against the LA Clippers, Klay Thompson came off the bench for the first time since his rookie season, scored a season high of 35 points, knocking down 7 three-pointers in 13 shots, and lead the Golden State Warriors to win against the Utah Jazz, second time this week.

Draymond Green helped on both ends of the court scoring a season high 23 points, with 5 rebounds, 5 assists, 4 steals and 2 blocks. Steph Curry was having another off-night, scored 16 points but was 2 of 8 from three-point line. Andrew Wiggins and Jonathan Kuminga scored 19 and 13 points, respectively. Brandin Podziemski, who replaced Klay in the starting lineup, chipped-in 13 points, grabbing 6 rebounds and dishing out 8 assist. As a team, six players from Warriors scored in double figures and shot 53.3% from the field.

For the Jazz, Collin Sexton and Keyonte George lead the Jazz, scoring 35 and 33 points, respectively, while John Collins scored 18 points but made a critical turnover by throwing the ball away ball after rebounding the ball and could potentially gave Utah the lead with just 3 seconds remaining in the game.

This is Utah and Golden State last game before the All Star break, that will take place in Indianapolis on Feb. 16-18, 2024. Next for the Warriors will be against the LA Lakers while Utah will face Charlotte Hornets both games will be on the 23rd after the All Star Break.

Steph Curry makes end-of-regulation 3-Pointer to carry Warriors past the Suns (113-112)

Steph Curry made a last-second three-pointer to lift the Warriors against the Suns in an epic showdown with Devin Booker and former-teammate Kevin Durant.

It was a close game from start to finish and the largest lead by either team was just 7 points. The game got intense in the final quarter with 6 lead changes.

Steph Curry, the leading scorer for the Warriors, secure the lead for Golden State with 3.3 second remaining in regulation, received an inbound pass from Brandin Podziemski and made the three from 29 feet and with the out stretch arms of Bradley Beal and Devin Booker.

Jonathan Kuminga added 21 points and 5 rebounds, while Draymond Green chipped-in 15 points, 7 rebounds and 9 assists.

Suns’ big 3 were running on all cylinders, with Ken Durant, a former-Warriors, scoring 24 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists; Devin Booker, score a team high 32 points and 6 assists, and Bradley Beal added 15 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists.

The Golden State Warriors will visit the Utah Jazz on Monday evening, while the Phoenix Suns will host the Sacramento Kings this Tuesday night.

Warriors win over Bulls behind the Splash Brothers

The Golden State Warriors got a much needed win to stop their two game losing streak. The Warriors were carried by the Splash brothers, scoring 57 of their 140 points. Both started slow; Steph Curry was scoreless in the 1st qtr and just 6 points in the entirety of the first half, while Klay Thompson scored just 5 points, he 2 of 8 from the field in the 1st half.

But in the 3rd qtr, Thompson made all of his 5 shot from beyond the arc, helping the Warriors build a 16 point lead early the 2nd held, he ended the game with 30 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Steph Curry on the other hand took over in the 4th, scoring 13 points, 3 from the three-point line and made 9 assists with just one turn over. He finished the game with 27 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists.

Together with the Splash Bros; Saric, Wiggins, Kuminga and Trayce Jackson-Davis played a big part in the game. Saric started the game and scored 12 points, 7 rebs, 6 assists and 2 steals; Wiggins added 17 points, 5 rebs and 8 assists; Kuminga and Jackson-Davis, added 24 points and 13 points, respectively. It was a total team effort for the Warriors.

The Chicago Bulls was lead by Demar DeRozan who scored a team high of 39 points, 7 rebs and 5 assists, while Coby White and Zach Lavine added 25 points a piece.

During the halftime break, Chicago Bulls recognized 13 franchise luminaries as well as the 1995-96 championship team during the inaugural Bulls Ring of Honor class. The Bulls said that will add to the Ring of Honor every two years, with the next class being revealed in 2026.

Stephen Curry scores 33 points, to carry the Warriors over Celtics in OT (132-126 )

Steph Curry even with 5-personal fouls and being targeted by the Boston offense, he played the entirety of the 4th qtr and OT, in those 17 mins, he scored a total of 20 points, on his way to scoring 33 points with 6 assists and helped the Warriors overcome a 17-point deficit middle of the 3rd qtr.

Klay Thompson, the other half of the Splash Brothers, scored 24 points with 4 rebounds and 4 assists, he also hit a timely three-point to tie the game with 2:18 remaining in regulation. Jonathan Kuminga also made a number of hustle plays to give the Warriors the lead in OT. Boston on the other hand couldn’t make any basket even if the Warriors gifted them 3 offensive rebounds and four shots at the end of the 4th qtr.

Warriors rookie guard Brandin Podziemski left the game in the second half due to a strained lower back and did not return to the game. Andrew Wiggins and Chris Paul were able to play off the bench, Paul scoring 9 points but was instrumental in the Warriors run after making 7 consecutive points, late in the 3rd, he finished with a team high 12 assists and 7 rebds. Rookie Trayce Jackson Davis also played big making the most of the playing time that Coach Steve Kerr is giving him. Jackson-Davis finished with 10 pts, team high 13 rebounds and 3 blocks.

Boston Celtics have multiple opportunities to secure the game but could not make any bucket; missing 4 shots by the end of regulation that could have given them the lead and key plays in the final minutes of OT.

Boston starters are all in double-figures, with Derrick White scoring a team high of 30 points, making 7-of-18 from beyond the arc, he also grabbed 7 rebounds. Followed by Jalen Brown’s 28 points, 8 rebs and 7 assists, while Jason Tatum added 15 points, 8 rebs and 7 assists.

Warriors will improved their standings to 13-14, a game behind the Suns for the 10th place in the West, while the Celtics will fall 20-6, still the number 1 team in the East and 2nd in the league.

Boston will go to Sacramento on Wednesday night, while the Warriors will host Washington on Friday night, while will be Jordan Poole’s first game back to the Chase Center after being traded to the Wizards in the off season.

Stephen Curry and Jason Tatum named the NBA Players of the Week

After two weeks of basketball, NBA named Stephen Curry of the Golden State Warriors and Jason Tatum from Boston Celtics, as NBA Players of the Week of the 2023-24 season.

In their second week of the league, Stephen Curry helped the Warriors to a 3-1 week, where he averages of 30.3 points, 5.0 rebounds and 4.8 assists. In just 7 games, Curry already made 40 3-pointers, the most in the league. Curry made his case of the player of the week after he torched the Pelicans with his 42-point, 5-assist, 5-rebound performance.

On the East side, Tatum powered the Celtics to be 3-0 this week. Stat-wise, the 25-year-old Celtic forward averages 30.2 points, 9.6 rebounds and 3.4 assists over the first five games. Topping his performance with a 155-point win against the Pacers.

Golden State Warriors wins epic Game 7 against Sacramento Kings (120 – 100)

It was a game for the record books, as Golden State Warriors routs the Sacramento Kings in the Game 7 of the 1st round of the 2023 NBA Playoffs.

It was a close game early in the 3rd quarter until Steph Curry single-handedly carry the Warriors’ offensive load. Curry score a team-high of 50 points on a 52.6% shooting, this is the most scored in a Game 7 in NBA history. Steph is the first player in Warriors history to score 40-plus points in a Game 7. Curry also dished-out 6 assists and 8 rebounds.

Aside from Curry, Kevon Looney continued to be a force on boards as he grabbed a total 21 rebounds, 11 on the offensive end, with his 11 points and 4 assists. Looney’s rebounding helped the Warriors control the pace of the game.

Steph and the Warriors will now face the Lebron and Lakers in the 2nd round, Lakers dispatched the Grizzlies in just 6 games. Game 1 of the 2nd round of the 2023 NBA Playoffs will this Tuesday at San Francisco’s Chase Center.

Game Highlights

Golden State Warriors beat OKC Thunder 136-125 behind Curry’s 34 points

After a slow start, Steph Curry and the Warriors just secured another win to keep them out of the Play-in tournament.

Both team played little to no defence in the first half, OKC was able to score 79 points in the first two qtr, while the GSW scored 69 points. Warriors Coach Steve Keer have nothing but praises for OKC during the Postgame Interview.

In the second half, Golden State;’s defense improved by limiting the Thunder to just 27 points in the 3rd and 19 in the 4th qtr, while maintaining offense. Even thought the Warriors are without Klay Thompson, Steph Curry, who scored a team high of 34 points, with six 3-pointers, had a lot of help most notably from Jordan Poole, scoring 30 points, on a 42% field goal and making five 3-pointers, then there’s Moses Moody, who contributed 13 points from the bench, Draymond Green chipped-in 17 points, 10 rebounds, 5 assists and a pair of blocks and steals.

The win moves the Warrior in the 5th place, two place above the 7th place and out of the play-in tournament, and just 1 game ahead of the LA Clippers and Lakers, who are currently in the 6th and 7th place, respectively.

After scoring 21 points in the first half, OKC Superstar Shai Gilgeous-Alexander finished the game with 32 points, making only 11 points for the rest of the game. Rookie Jalen Williams added 19 points but the Thunder still lost their third game in a row and fourth out of five.

OKC will visit Utah for their last two games of the season, as they try to salvage their season to be in the play-in tournament.

Golden State Warriors will be at Sacramento on Friday night, which can be a preview in the 1st round of the playoffs between the 6th and 3rd seed of the Western Conference.

Embiid, Markkanen and Morant named as All-Star Starters replacements for the 2023 NBA All-Star Game

Here are some good news and bad news, well I guess that will depend on the player you’re rooting for. Good news for fans of Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid, Utah Jazz forward Lauri Markkanen and Memphis Grizzlies guard Ja Morant, since all three All Star will move-up to be starters replacing injured and starters Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry (left superior tib/fib sprain), Phoenix Suns forward Kevin Durant (right knee MCL sprain) and New Orleans Pelicans forward Zion Williamson (strained right hamstring), which is a bad new for the fans of the said injured players.

At the sametime, 3 new All Star Reserves was named by NBA Commissioner Adam Silver as injury replacements for the 2023 NBA All-Star Game namely; Minnesota Timberwolves guard Anthony Edwards, Sacramento Kings guard De’Aaron Fox and Toronto Raptors forward Pascal Siakam.

NBA All-Star Game will be played on Sunday, Feb. 19 at 8:30 p.m. ET/6:30 p.m. MT at Vivint Arena in Salt Lake City.

The NBA All-Star Draft will take place hours before the game where Captains for each team will choose from the player pool to complete their team roster. For this year’s All Star Games Lebron James, of the LA Lakers and Giannis Antetokounmpo of the Milwaukee Bucks are named as the Team Captains.

Golden State Warriors survives Memphis Grizzlies even after Curry ejection (122 – 120)

Golden State Warriors survived the Memphis Grizzlies even after Steph Curry ejection for throwing his mouth piece with 1:14 remaining in the game. Steph appeared to be frustrated after Jordan Poole missing a 30-footer with more than 10 seconds left in the shot clock. Jordan Poole did made it up for making the winning shot with 2.6 seconds left in the game.

It was a thrilling game between the rivals that could potentially meet in the 1st round of the Playoffs. Aside from their starters, Warriors received a lot of help their young guns most notably Jonathan Kuminga who contributed 13-pts, 2 rebounds, 4 assists and 1 block.

Warriors next game with be against Toronto Raptors at home, while the Memphis Grizzlies will be on the road against Minnesota Timberwolves.

Curry hits buzzer beater to beat Rockets 105-103

It was a bad shooting night for Steph Curry but he made it up by making the go a head shot to beat the Rockets 105-103.

Rocket’s young players were hitting the shots from beyond the arc, a one point, Garrison Mathews made a 4-point play when Andrew Wiggins was slapped with flagrant foul 1, but a couple of break in the last 5 minutes were in favor of the Warriors, which gave them the edge to take home the win.

A three by Jordan Poole that cut the deficit to 4-points, then after a stop on the other end, a slam by Otto Porter which was assisted by Curry, then followed by a J. Poole drive to tie the gamne.

A missed 27-foot three point jumper by Garrison Mathews gave Golden State the possession with 5.1 sec remaining in the game clock, that’s when Stephen Curry made the 20-foot step back jumpshot to seal the game for the Warriors.

Warriors will host the Jazz this Sunday night, while Rockets will host San Antonio on Tuesday night.
