Full list of Metro Manila Film Festival 2024 Winners

The 50th edition of the annual Metro Manila Film Festival just concluded its “Awards Night” (Gabi ng Parangal) at the Solaire Resort & Casino in ParaƱaque, on December 27, 2024. For those who missed the live telecast, below are the full list of Metro Manila Film Festival 2024 winners.

“Green Bones” emerged as the biggest winner, claiming 6 awards, including Best Picture, Best Actor, Best Supporting Actor, Best Screenplay, Best Cinematography, and Best Child Performer.

“Isang Himala” and “The Kingdom” tied for second place in terms of the number of awards. However, “The Kingdom” garnered the more prestigious awards, namely Best Picture (2nd place), Best Director, Best Production Design, Best Visual Effects, and the Gatpuno Antonio J. Villegas Cultural Award.

In contrast, “Isang Himala” won Best Picture (4th place), Special Jury Prize, Best Supporting Actress, Best Original Theme Song, and Best Musical Score.

I was able to watch the “Awards Night” and it was great but being abroad, you can only hope that cinemas and theater house will feature these films, since no matter how much you want to watch them, if its not available, one can only hope that it will be available online and soon!

List: Winners of the 95th Academy Awards

The 95th Academy Awards which took place in Los Angeles on Sunday, 12th of March and broadcasted live on ABC television. The biggest winner is the film Everything Everywhere All At Once, which took home 7 awards including the Best Picture, Best Actress (Michelle Yeoh), Best Director (Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert), Best Supporting Actor (Ke Huy Quan), Best Supporting Actress (Jamie Lee Curtis), Best Original Screenplay (Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert) and Best Film Editing.

Another big winner is Brendan Fraser for taking home the Best Actor award for his portrayal of Charlie in ‘The Whale’ and Top Gun: Maverick for taking home the Best Sound award.
