Aquaman 2, officially titled Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, is the sequel to the 2018 blockbuster that made Jason Momoa a household name. The trailer shows Aquaman returning to his underwater kingdom of Atlantis, where he faces a new threat from his old enemy Black Manta.
Black Manta has acquired a powerful weapon called the Black Trident, which can unleash a dark force that could destroy the world. Aquaman must team up with his estranged brother Orm, the former king of Atlantis, to stop Black Manta and save his family, his people and the world.
The trailer also features glimpses of Aquaman’s love interest Mera, played by Amber Heard, who briefly returns in the sequel despite the controversy surrounding her divorce from Johnny Depp. Other returning cast members include Nicole Kidman as Aquaman’s mother Atlanna, Patrick Wilson as Orm, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Black Manta, Willem Dafoe as Vulko, and Dolph Lundgren as King Nereus.
The trailer also introduces some new faces, such as Vincent Regan as Atlan, Indya Moore as Karshon, and Pilou Asbæk for an undisclosed role.
