Apple intros the new HomeView powered by Apple Intelligence with Siri AI

Apple announced HomeView at its “Welcome home” event on October 13. The 7-inch Liquid Retina touchscreen has True Tone and reaches 500 nits of brightness. It sits on a domed speaker base, powered by an A18 chip, with a 12MP Center Stage camera and Siri AI. A separate wall-mounted model is also available.

Its design closely resembles the iMac G4, with a floating display above a rounded base. The tabletop model comes in silver, starlight, rose pink and space gray. The wall-mounted version attaches through Schneider Home mounts.

HomeView supports facial recognition for up to six users. Siri AI pulls personal context, such as Messages, Calendar and Apple Music playlists, from a connected iPhone or iPad. The device also handles FaceTime calls and web browsing, and it acts as a command center for the Home app and smart home devices. It has no App Store.

Both models cost $299 in the U.S., though the wall-mounted version requires a separate mount. Pre-orders opened October 13, and the device ships November 13 in the U.S., Canada, India, Australia, New Zealand and the U.K. Notably, HomeView will not launch in the European Union due to current regulatory status regarding Siri AI.
