Adrian Wojnarowski retires from ESPN to be the GM of the men’s basketball program at St. Bonaventure

Adrian Wojnarowski, posted on his X account (@wojespn)

I grew up the son of a factory worker two miles from ESPN’s campus and only ever dreamed of making a living as a sportswriter. Thirty-seven years ago, the Hartford Courant gave me my first byline and I never stopped chasing the thrill of it all.

This craft transformed my life, but I’ve decided to retire from ESPN and the news industry. I understand the commitment required in my role and it’s an investment that I’m no longer driven to make. Time isn’t in endless supply and I want to spend mine in ways that are more personally meaningful.

I leave with overwhelming gratitude for countless mentors and colleagues, subjects and stories, readers and viewers. No one has benefitted more than me from the belief, trust and generosity of others.
The past seven years at ESPN have been a particular privilege. I’m appreciative of the company’s leadership – especially Jimmy Pitaro and Cristina Daglas – for the understanding and acceptance of my decision to make a life change.

After all these years reporting on everyone’s teams, I’m headed back to my own.

NBA reinstate Draymond Green are being suspended for 12 games

Golden State Warriors veteran Draymond Green have been reinstated by the NBA after being suspended for 12 games. The announcement was made from the league’s PR account (NBA Communications.

Last 14th December, Draymond Green was “suspended indefinitely for striking Phoenix Suns center Jusuf Nurkić in the face”, prior to the suspension, Green already received a 5-game suspension for “headlocking” Minnesota center Rudy Gobert.

Green can be back in the lineup during their Toronto game this Sunday but according to NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski, he will “need approximately a week to ramp up for a game return.”

The Golden State Warriors are 7-5 without Green and it’s been a rollercoaster ride for the team considering he is the leading defensive and facilitator of the team. The reinstatement of Green is a welcoming news for the Warriors as well as its fans, as we approach the half-way mark of the season and a chance of Golden State to make a run for the playoffs.

Chris Paul traded to Golden State Warriors for Jordan Poole and Draft Picks

After being traded to the Washington Wizard for Bradley Beal, Chris Paul is yet again part of another trade with the Golden State Warriors, that will send Jordan Poole, Ryan Rollins and two draft picks to the Wizards.

This was reported by ESPN Adrian Wojnarowski and Shams Charania of The Athletic.

Warriors receive:

  • Chris Paul

Wizards receive:

  • Jordan Poole
  • Ryan Rollins
  • 2030 first-round pick (protected)
  • 2027 second-round pick

Stylistically, Paul plays a slower kind of basketball, which is different style from the the “fast pace and spaced the floor” that the Warriors are playing. Also, it does not address the “size” factor that the GSW need in order to content in the West, specially with now NBA Champs Denver Nuggets.

If Golden State does keep Chris Paul for the season, they will have at least 3 months to retool and fit Paul into their system or the Warriors to adapt to CP3’s kind of the basketball.

Washington Superstar Bradley Beal headed to Phoenix Suns

Just barely into the offseason and just 3 days before the NBA Draft, we now have a blockbuster trade that will bring Wizard Superstar Bradley Beal going to Phoenix Suns, with guard Jordan Goodwin. Suns in turn will send Chris Paul, Landry Shamet, multiple second-round picks and pick swaps to Wizards.

The deal became possible after Beal waived his “no-trade” clause in his contract. This was reported by ESPN Senior NBA Insider Adrian Wojnarowski, the deal will take a few of days to be finalized.

The trade will form another Durant-lead “Super team” with Devin Booker and Kevin Durant, with Deandre Ayton as the Suns top players. The trade will definitely affect the depth of the team which was diminished when the Suns traded for Durant last season.

Nets to trade Kevin Durant to the Phoenix Suns

In a blockbuster trade, the Brooklyn Nets will ship Superstar Kevin Durant to the Phoenix Suns, this was first reported by ESPN Senior NBA Insider Adrian Wojnarowski. In the trade, Suns will send Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, Jae Crowder, four first-round unprotected picks (2023, 2025, 2027 and 2029) and a 2028 pick swap to Brooklyn. The Nets on the otherhand will send Kevin Durant and TJ Warren and the 2028 pick swap to Suns.

New Phoenix Suns majority owner Mat Ishbia pushed to get a deal done on the eve of Thursday’s NBA trade deadline. Durant, 34, still have three years and $153 million left on his contract, originally requested to be traded last Summer but Nets where unable to find any suitors. Last week, this Allstar teammate Kyrie Irving was traded to the Dallas Mavericks, and a clear sign that Durant will be the next star to leave the Brooklyn franchise.
