ICYMI: Sophie Cunningham’s First Adidas Shoe Drops This Month

Indiana Fever guard Sophie Cunningham has come a long way in the sneaker world in less than a year. Last June, Cunningham wore $45 adidas sneakers in WNBA games. The following month, she starred in a campaign for the adidas Dame X. Now, her own player-exclusive colorway is on the way.

On Friday afternoon, multiple footwear websites began reporting that Cunningham’s adidas Crazy Energy colorway was on the way. Cunningham confirmed the news by reposting the images to her Instagram story. Below is a detailed look and breakdown of the upcoming release.

The adidas Crazy Energy Sophie Cunningham PE officially launches on Friday, July 24. Available in adult sizes, these high-performance basketball sneakers will retail for $120 on adidas.com.

Starting today, Adidas to offer existing Yeezy Inventory

Adidas has just announced that it will sell the remaining YEEZY inventory in the coming weeks, across the globe. This includes one of the most popular designs, the Yeezy Boost 350 V2 in Steel Grey. The news comes after Adidas terminated its partnership with YEEZY in October 2022, following antisemitic remarks and actions by Kanye West, now known as Ye.

Here the full text of Adidas official announcement;

Today adidas began a further release of YEEZY inventory with a range of existing products being available in phases over the coming weeks across the world.

As announced at the start of 2024, adidas will release the remaining YEEZY inventory, which features products from 2022, in the course of the year. The range available will include some of the most popular designs beginning with the 350 V2 in STEEL GREY.

The products will be exclusively available through adidas digital platforms including the CONFIRMED app, adidas app and adidas.com. The phased release of products will help ensure a fair and premium experience for consumers. Availability and timing of release will vary depending on location.

Since terminating the YEEZY partnership in October 2022 adidas has donated to selected organizations to combat discrimination and hate, including racism and antisemitism.

Adidas unveil first signature shoes of Anthony Edwards, the AE1

After unveiling the logo, Adidas just introduced the first signature shoes of Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards called the AE1. Anthony “Ant-Man” Edwards, is one of the rising star in the NBA, and fresh off the FIBA World Cup 2023, the European Sports sportswear company has unveil Ant’s first signature shoes, which they aptly calling AE1. The shoe was unveiled on September 23, 2023, in Atlanta, Edwards’ hometown.

The AE1 is a performance basketball shoe that is designed to match Edwards’ playing style. The shoe features a lightweight and breathable knit upper with TPU overlays for added support. The AE1 is equipped with a BOOST cushioning system and directional herringbone blades throughout the tread to provide optimal performance on the court. The outsole features a herringbone traction pattern for optimal grip on the court.

The shoe itself boasts a unique grate-type/honeycomb design and will be available in Timberwolves-themed colorways, including a “Georgia Peach” colorway that pays homage to Edwards’ home state. The shoe also features Edwards’ signature logo, which is a combination of the letters “A” and “E” in a forward and backward motion.

The AE1 is scheduled to be released in December 2023. It is a highly anticipated shoe among basketball fans and sneakerheads alike, as Edwards is one of the most exciting young players in the NBA. AE1 will retail for $120.
