Watch ABS-CBN Christmas ID 2020 – Ikaw Ang Liwanag At Ligaya

ABC-CBN just aired their Christmas station ID “Ikaw ang Liwanag at Ligaya”, the music video first aired on Tuesday, December 1 right after its flagship news program, TV Patrol.

The music video features that biggest ABS-CBN talents – both news and entertainment, including the Network’s top executives.

Lyrics written by Robert Labayen and Love Rose De Leon and brought to life by composer Thyro Alfaro.

Twenty Kapamilya singers have collaborated to perform the Christmas ID 2020 song: Regine Velasquez-Alcasid, Ogie Alcasid, Morissette Amon, Bamboo, Janine Berdin, Darren Espanto, Vice Ganda, Sarah Geronimo, Toni Gonzaga, Jona, Moira, Martin Nievera, Elha Nympha, Zsa Zsa Padilla, Inigo Pascual, Angeline Quinto, Lea Salonga, Erik Santos, KZ Tandingan and Gary Valenciano.

There is a light inside all of us that never goes out. It will keep on burning no matter how dark the times have become because of the trials that test our spirit. This Christmas, we remember that God is this inexhaustible source, and the goodness He instilled in us will inspire us to pass on His light to others until our collective light wins and brings us real joy.

This is the lesson imparted by the stories featured in this year’s ABS-CBN Christmas ID “Ikaw ang Liwanag at Ligaya.” Take, for example, Arjanmar and Khaye Rebeta who proved that a pandemic could not dim their love story. Or of Moching Bueno, who found joy in serving frontliners despite suffering from his own loss. God’s infinite light also shines through the love of our family, as shown in the stories of Rodolfo Ariño, a PWD breadwinner and Peter Roncales who braved all odds to reunite with his loved ones. These and many other heartwarming stories will spark hope that a joyful Christmas is possible despite the challenges of the year 2020.

EXPLAINER: ABS-CBN’s defense in the Supreme Court quo warranto case

A good read if you want to be educated in ABS-CBN’s quo warranto case.

Lian Buan, reporting for Rappler;

In a 58-page comment submitted to the Supreme Court on Monday, February 24, ABS-CBN answered the accusations point-by-point as it fights for its franchise on all fronts.

At the Supreme Court, ABS-CBN hopes the justices would junk the petition outright for being the wrong venue, citing hierarchy of courts. The Supreme Court is not a trier of facts, and ABS-CBN said Calida’s case deals heavily with factual issues that should be resolved by either lower courts or different administrative agencies, and not the High Tribunal.
