NBA;

Dear NBA Fans,

As you know, we have temporarily suspended our season in response to the coronavirus pandemic. We made this decision to safeguard the health and well-being of fans, players, everyone connected to our game and the general public. This hiatus will last at least 30 days and we intend to resume the season, if and when it becomes safe for all concerned.

In the meantime, we will continue to coordinate with infectious disease and public health experts along with government officials to determine safe protocols for resuming our games. As we develop the appropriate course for future NBA games and events, we will keep you informed of any changes as soon as they happen. Tickets already purchased for a postponed game will be honored when the game is rescheduled. If games are not played or played in an empty arena, teams will work with fans on a credit for a future game or a refund.

We encourage you to visit NBA.com for the latest news, updates and interactive features to stay connected to the game. You will also find guidelines on how to keep yourself and your family safe and healthy.

This remains a complicated and rapidly evolving situation that reminds us that we are all part of a broader society with a responsibility to look out for one another. That is what the NBA will continue to do, and we are grateful for your understanding and for being the best fans in sports.

WhatsApp now with Dark Mode

WhatsApp just announce that Dark Mode feature is available in the latest version of the app. The new theme is available to both iOS and Android users.

Here’s the full text of WhatsApp’s announcement;

We are very excited to update WhatsApp with the most requested feature from our users everywhere – dark mode.

Dark mode for WhatsApp offers a fresh look on a familiar experience. It’s designed to reduce eye strain in low light environments. And we hope it helps prevent those awkward moments where your phone lights up the room.

When designing dark mode we spent time researching and experimenting with a focus on two particular areas:

Readability: When choosing colors, we wanted to minimize eye fatigue and use colors that are closer to the system defaults on iPhone and Android respectively.

Information Hierarchy: We wanted to help users easily focus their attention on each screen. We did this by using color and other design elements to make sure the most important information stands out.

Users on Android 10 and iOS 13 can use dark mode by enabling it in system settings. Users on Android 9 and below can go into WhatsApp Settings > Chats > Theme > select ‘Dark’.

We hope everyone enjoys dark mode, which is rolling out in the coming days on the latest version of WhatsApp.

In addition, the Road Warriors also acquired the rights to Blackwater’s 2020 first round pick and 2021 second round draft pick.

Blackwater eventually dealt Erram to the Katropa for Marion Magat, Ed Daquioag, Yousef Taha and TNT’s 2021 and 2022 first round picks.

I feel that the TNT is the clear winner in this deal and they become a clear contender in the coming All Filipino conference.

EXPLAINER: ABS-CBN’s defense in the Supreme Court quo warranto case

A good read if you want to be educated in ABS-CBN’s quo warranto case.

Lian Buan, reporting for Rappler;

In a 58-page comment submitted to the Supreme Court on Monday, February 24, ABS-CBN answered the accusations point-by-point as it fights for its franchise on all fronts.

At the Supreme Court, ABS-CBN hopes the justices would junk the petition outright for being the wrong venue, citing hierarchy of courts. The Supreme Court is not a trier of facts, and ABS-CBN said Calida’s case deals heavily with factual issues that should be resolved by either lower courts or different administrative agencies, and not the High Tribunal.
