The Golden State Warriors secured a hard-fought victory against the Orlando Magic at Chase Center, winning 104-99. Its their last game at home before going on a 7-game road trip. It was an ugly game but the Warriors’s defense help them secure the win.
Andrew Wiggins led the Warriors with a game-high 25 points, followed by Steph Curry with 24 points and 5 assists. Andrew Wiggins made key plays, while Draymond Green’s defensive presence was crucial in containing the Magic’s offense.

For the Magic, Franz Wagner lead the team in scoring with 21 points and 5 assists, Paolo Banchero contributed with 18 points and 6 rebounds. The Magic made the game close and was position to win the game but the Magic struggled to contain Curry and couldn’t overcome the Warriors’ late-game execution.
This win is a crucial one for the Warriors as they start their 7-game road trip and solidify their position in the playoff race.
The Magic visit the retooled Kings on Wednesday, while the Warriors go to Utah on Wednesday, as well.

Another blockbuster trade involving Sacramento Kings, San Antonio Spurs and the Chicago Bulls, this was reported by ESPN’s Shams Charania.

In one of the craziest trade in NBA history, the Dallas Mavs will trade Superstar Luka Luka Dončić for L.A. Lakers’ Anthony Davis, the breaking news was made by ESPN Senior NBA Insider Shams Charania.
After announcing the 2025 All-Star Game starters, the NBA release the names for the reserves in this years All-Star Game.
NBA, “Seven players from each conference have been selected by the NBA’s head coaches as reserves for the 2025 NBA All-Star Game, which will be played on Sunday, Feb. 16 at Chase Center in San Francisco. The new four-team, three-game mini-tournament will air at 8 ET on TNT.

Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow is directed by Craig Gillespie and written by Ana Nogueira. The film will star Milly Alcock as Kara Zor-El/Supergirl, Matthias Schoenaerts, Eve Ridley, David Krumholtz, and Emily Beecham. It’s been reported that Jason Momoa was cast to play the alien mercenary and bounty hunter – Lobo.
The film is scheduled to be in theaters on June 26, 2026.

Nintendo has officially announced the Switch 2, the company’s next generation handheld gaming system. Because of the all the leaks, an official announced is all but official.
Nintendo did not provide any details on the specs and the pricing but they did release a “first look” trailer (below) that give more or less an idea on what the Switch 2 will look like.

The company is schedule to officially launch the Switch 2 on April 2, 2025, which I expect the company to provide more details about the new gaming device.

The agreement will allow Android users to pay using their Android phones instead of using their MADA card, just like how iOS users uses Apple pay (on their iphone).
If you watched the first 3 season on Netflix, this feels like a continuation but on a time gap, since Wilson Fisk hinted that Matt Murdock / Daredevil, stopped being a “vigilante” or being Daredevil.

The bill states;
The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR), during House deliberations on the ABS-CBN franchise in the previous Congress, certified that the franchise grantee did not violate ownership restrictions and did not have pending tax liabilities.
The non-renewal of the franchise, however, cost some 11,000 direct jobs. This representation also argued that the information asymmetries that resulted from the loss of an information source caused thousands of new COVID-19 infections during the critical 2020 period.
Prior to the rejection of the franchise renewal, some 36% of Filipinos derived their news and entertainment from the channel. ABS-CBN’s extensive regional network reach was also the source for news and updates on impending disasters, making the channel crucial then to disaster risk reduction strategies at the local level.
Given the merits of renewing the franchise, as well as the clarifications made by government agencies over certain allegations against the grantee, this representation urges Congress to reconsider the non-renewal of the franchise by the previous Congress.
It remains to be seen if the current House of Representatives under Marcos Jr. Admin will grant ABS-CBN to renew its franchise.

After winning 2 in a row, the Warriors fell to the Kings, 129 – 99, Sunday evening. It was a dominant show of force by the Kings leading as much as 39 points. Seven Kings player scored in double digits points led by Malik Monk with 26 points and 12 assists, followed by Domantas Sabonis’ 22 points, 13 rebounds and 7 assists. Riyadh Public Transport (RPT) has announced that the Riyadh Metro Orange Line has officially open today, January 5, 2025. The announcement was made on their social media accounts and on Saudi Press Agency, more than a month after King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud inaugurated the Riyadh Metro.
