UFC parent company Endeavor Group Holdings to acquire 51% stake on WWE

UFC parent company Endeavor Group Holdings Inc. have began the process to acquire World Wrestling Entertainment Inc. (WWE), a professional wrestling promotion known for it’s live events like Monday Night Raw, Friday Night Smackdown, NXT 2.0 and WrestleMania, which are all professional wrestling pay-per-view and livestreaming event.

WWE is also home to household names like Hulk Hogan, Andre The Giant, the Ultimate Warrior and Machoman Randy Savage. This is also where Dwayne “the Rock” Johnson started before becoming a successful actor and producer as well John Cena, known for his catch phrase “You Can’t See Me.”

Both UFC and WWE will form a new sports entertainment company valued at about $21 billion, the companies said on Monday. Endeavor Group Holdings Inc. which owns and operates UFC, will own a 51% stake in WWE, the professional wrestling outfit operated by Vince McMahon, who will retain his role in the new company. The transaction values UFC at $12.1 billion and WWE at $9.3 billion.

The combined company, which will be traded publicly under ticker symbol “TKO” on the New York Stock Exchange, and will take on a new name once the deal is done.

“This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to bring together two leading pure-play sports and entertainment companies,” Endeavor CEO Ari Emanuel said in an investor presentation, describing the deal as a “transformational step” for Endeavor.

With UFC and WWE under one roof, there is a big possibility of a crossover where UFC fighters make an appearance on any WWE matches or a WWE Superstar participate in a UFC fight.

I guess we just have to wait and see!

Watch the latest Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse Trailer

Sony just release another trailer of the Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse and this one is a doozy.

If in the first trailer, we do not know why all those “Spider-People”, including Spider-Man 2099, are attacking Mile Morales and Gwen Stacy, and now we got the answer or at least the idea on why they’re after Miles Morales.

As explained by Miguel O’Hara a.k.a. Spider-Man 2099, Morales can never be a full-fledged Spider-man because he never experience the tragedy of choosing to save the “one person he loves versus saving the entire universe,” which everyone of the Spider-People have experienced. This is where things got interesting, since Miles Morales refuse to accept this fate as a Spider-man, this is what prompted the rest of the Spider-People to go after him.

It is still unclear who the main villain of the film and the main plot line but whatever it is, it looks like Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is going to be a great film.

Miles Morales returns for the next chapter of the Oscar®-winning Spider-Verse saga, Spider-Man™: Across the Spider-Verse. After reuniting with Gwen Stacy, Brooklyn’s full-time, friendly neighborhood Spider-Man is catapulted across the Multiverse, where he encounters a team of Spider-People charged with protecting its very existence. But when the heroes clash on how to handle a new threat, Miles finds himself pitted against the other Spiders and must redefine what it means to be a hero so he can save the people he loves most.

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is directed by Joaquim Dos Santos, Kemp Powers and Justin K. Thompson. Screenplay by Phil Lord & Christopher Miller and David Callaham. Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse will be in theaters June 2, 2023.

Marvel released the latest trailer and poster for Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania

Marvel Studios just dropped the latest trailer for the Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania.

The 138 seconds video (below), Kang is trying to seduce Scott Lang into doing something that Kang cannot do in the quantum realm. The trailer also gives us a quick look on what MODOK will look like in the film, which, in all honesty, he looks a terrifying and far from the goofy MODOK that have been portrayed in the comics and animations.

The tone of the trailer, specially the way they focus on Scott Lang at the end while battling Kang, we may see the death of another Avengers, which I’m hoping not the case.

We’ll know whether Scott Lang dies, and if the whole Lang and Pym family will be able to escape the ‘wrath’ of Kang and Quantum real unscathed, on 17th of February when the film hits the big screen.

Together with the new trailer, Marvel Studios also release a new movie posters that also includes the film’s tag line “Witness the beginning of a new dynasty.” which is a play to the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Phase 6 movies Avengers: The Kang Dynasty.

Directed by Peyton Reed, Ant-Man & The Wasp: Quantumania will see the return of Paul Rudd as Scott Lang/ Ant-Man, Kathryn Newton (Cassie), Evangeline Lilly as Hope van Dyne/Wasp, and Michael Douglas (Hank Pym) with Michelle Pfeiffer (Janet van Dyne). The film will also introduce the latest big bad boss of the MCU Kang the Conqueror played by Jonathan Majors and Corey Stoll as M.O.D.O.K.

Ant-Man & The Wasp: Quantumania will be in theaters on February 17th, 2023.
