The popular Netflix series Warrior Nun will return as a film trilogy, it was announced on Tuesday. The series, which was based on the comic book series of the same name, was canceled by Netflix after two seasons. However, the series’ fans were vocal in their support for a renewal, and their efforts have paid off.
The Warrior Nun series premiered in 2020, and Season 2 of the show earned a 100% critics score and a 99% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes — the highest ever for a Netflix original at that time. But a month after the premiere of Season 2, the show was abruptly cancelled by s.
Mark Gordon Pictures and Propagate Content have been tagged to produce the trilogy. The creative team from the series, including showrunner Simon Barry, will return for the films.

“I am very happy to announce that Warrior Nun is coming back as a trilogy of motion pictures. Once again, a trilogy of feature films. Three.” said Barry. “The fans have been incredibly supportive of the series, and we are excited to give them the ending they deserve.”
The film trilogy will pick up where the series left off, with Ava (Alba Baptista) and the Order of the Cruciform Sword continuing their fight against the forces of darkness. The films will also explore new storylines and characters from the comic book series.
The news of the Warrior Nun film trilogy is a major win for fans of the series. The show was praised for its action, humor, and strong female characters. The films have the potential to be even more successful than the series, as they will have a larger budget and a wider audience.

The film trilogy is expected to begin production in 2024. It’s unclear if the Warrior Nun films will still be on Netflix but I won’t be surprise if it will have a limited theatrical release then later be available in the big 3 streaming services like Disney+, Amazon Prime Video and even Netflix.
Warrior Nun follows the story of Ava Silva (Alba Baptista), “a 19-year-old quadriplegic orphaned teen, who wakes up in a morgue with a new lease on life and a divine artifact embedded in her back, giving her superpowers as the chosen Halo-Bearer. She discovers she is now part of the ancient order of demon-hunting that has been tasked with fighting demons on Earth, and powerful forces representing both heaven and hell want to find and control her.”
Season 1 and Season 2 of Warrior Nun is available in Netflix.
